We at Cornell University are running DSpace 1.8.2 (JSPUI) in production. I am
getting ready to cut over our Production instance to DSpace 3.3 (JSPUI), but I
have run into a problem in my testing.
When I run the Embargo Lifter, it removes the Embargo date, but it doesn't set

I was trying to edit my profile and saw that, as I have collections with the same name in different communities, I couldn't know which collection I should subscribe. Is there a way to append communities names to the collections in the combobox?

Change all instances of "collection" with destination collection handle for

Did you reuse the older configuration? You should start from scratch
with the DSpace 4 configuration and put your customizations in
one-by-one instead of trying to "upgrade" your 1.6 configuration to 4.
I'm not sure it will solve this particular problem, but it sure
prevents many problems overall.

search fails to work yet.
Have you tried to restart tomcat? Try to do that and see what happens.
