Hi Nado,
You could always try to change your site hierarchy, to actually appear how
your are intending. It's messy, but you could write some SQL queries to
move things around. Create a new community category1 and category2, and
moving the communities into one or the other.
Altering your news-xmlu
you can change it by editing communitylist.xsl file in the theme xsl folder
