I'm not 100% familiar with this area, but I don't think you can hide items only from Anonymous users. You can however, make them Private, which means they will be accessible only to the Administrator. This is a new feature and not very well documented, but I know private items will be excluded fro

xmlui is an interface, not theme. I'll assume you're using the default Mirage interface. The generic solution (works regardless of theme used) is to comment out the following "if" block and rebuild DSpace: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/dspace-3.1/dspace-xmlui/src/main/java/org/dspace/app/
