Hi!
I wrote a small patch which splits the resizehints from resize and
puts it into its own function. This makes resizehints more reusable
for efficienter tiling algorythms.

Doesn't Alt+Left mouse button drags for move, and Alt+Right mouse
button drags for resize work? I haven't seen any X window which won't
resize using this.
