summary, there seems to be less possibility than I hoped of getting
exactly what I want. I will probably wait a while before buying
anything. Also this site was mentioned on of the other threads and is

the property WM_CLASS(STRING) gives the output "Instance","Class" (in
that order), so I think just
{"Iceweasel", NULL, NULL, 1<<1, True}
should work.

hello. I have a program which opens a graphics display window which I
would like to always be floating. xprop for the window returns only:
WM_STATE(WM_STATE):
window state: Normal
icon window: 0x0
WM_HINTS(WM_HINTS):
Client accepts input or input f
1 as on the
dwm page, and the only patch I use is bottomstack.
