Re: [HCDX] [dxld] New SW Xmtrs for Algeria
Could be probably will be two TXs each site, as governmental public TDA broadcaster will be have a reserve unit locally for maintenance matter and so ... Long wait on these TDA Qargla and Bechar sites plan: ALG requested still these wooden planing entries with 300 kW at Qargla and Bechar sites in B-15 season, like in past 6 ! years, but latest Google Earth images reveal no newly antennas erected yet, at these ALG bcast sites. Still usage via Issoudun TDF France relay site on RTA broadcast at present. At present Bechar LW 153 and MW 576 kHz are silent now, to allow new build-up MW unit at this site. TransRadio txs erection and Ampegon antenna refurbishing is still underway. see latest Google Earth image of the site: since Jan 2015 the old 3 mast MW antennas laid down, and to be replaced by a SINGLE MAST with newly erected EARTH COPPER NET, all visible at Bechar MW site now. 576 kHz is not much used these days, former co-channels Muehlacker and Schwerin Germany, Baltic state and USSR units, and others scrapped down now. Only Bulgaria Vidin is on air on 576 kHz I guess. wb - Original Message - From: stvluc...@sbcglobal.net [dxld] d...@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, August 28, 2015 6:44 AM Subject: [dxld] New SW Xmtrs for Algeria This from RadioWorld.com; new Ampegon SW transmitters for Télédiffusion d’Algérie Télédiffusion d’Algérie Télédiffusion d’Algérie which will eventually replace the current Issoudun usage. http://www.radioworld.com/article/t%C3%A9l%C3%A9diffusion-d%E2%80%99alg%C3%A9rie-opts-for-ampegon-/276944 Not clear if each site gets two transmitters, or just one at each site. On Wednesday, sources confirmed that government officials had been directed to put finishing touches on the plan to take over land worth billions of rupees belonging to the radio station. Sources claim that the land was being taken over under the pretext of constructing a sports complex and park. Also read: Radio Pakistan woes“You will not be able to listen to local shows or programmes in other languages from Radio Pakistan Quetta,” said a senior Radio Pakistan official while talking to IDawnI. “The government is going to remove the transmission towers and other machinery from the land on Sariab Road. It was allotted to Radio Pakistan in 1964.” He added that by using this piece of land for a sports complex would be like gagging the voice of the station as it would be take several shows, including those on recitation of the Holy Quran and other popular programmes in different languages, off the air.According to the station’s senior official, when a government official was asked about why they wanted these 64 acres, he replied: “Some people have had their eyes set on this precious land for a long time. They want to take over the land by claiming to build a sports complex even though Quetta already has a large sports complex [Ayub Stadium].” The station was set up in Quetta in 1956 on 64 acres on Sariab Road. In 1959, Radio Pakistan installed medium-wave and short-wave transmitters on the property so the station’s programmes could be heard all over the province. Radio Pakistan Quetta had installed 93.5 kilowatt transmission on the site before Ramazan this year, and had launched an FM transmission, “Sout-ul-Quran”, for programmes related to recitation of the Holy Quran and Islamic teachings. An official of Radio Pakistan expressed fears that if the provincial government decided to go ahead with the plan, these transmissions and shows would have to be taken off the airwaves. A government official said the Shahwani Sports Stadium constructed by the government had the capacity for building a new sports complex and was located close to Radio Pakistan. He said that the provincial government also had acres of official land available on the Hazarganji and Sibi roads linking to Sariab Road and they could construct a new sports complex there instead. He added that he did not know why the provincial government was insisting on constructing a sports complex on Radio Pakistan’s property. A senior official of the radio station said the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation should take notice of what was happening in Quetta and ask the federal government to release funds to install powerful transmitters and other equipment to enable Radio Pakistan Quetta to air its programmes for listeners across the province.Published in Dawn, August 27th, 2015 Radio Pakistan to go off air in favour of sports complex _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/ ___ THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE IS FREE. [DX] VOA Radiogram this very last weekend of August
Hello friends, This weekend’s VOA Radiogram will include an experiment suggested by Mark Hirst in the UK. Mark notices that interference to MFSK images comes from RF noise that is concentrated in the lower audio frequencies. He wants to know if images might be clearer if they are transmitted at a higher audio frequency. Because of a few extra minutes in this weekend’s program, the third image will be transmitted a second time, at a center frequency of 2000 Hz. Here is the lineup for VOA Radiogram, program 126, 29-30 August 2015, all in MFSK32 except where noted: 1:30 Program preview 2:45 Strife reduces pollution in parts of Middle East* 9:03 Diminished marine biodiversity* 16:10 Plastic debris in the Pacific Ocean* 24:18 MFSK32 at 2000 Hz: Same image* 26:37 MFSK32 at 1500 Hz: Closing announcements* 28:23 Olivia 64-2000: Transmission schedule * with image Please send reception reports to radiog...@voanews.commailto:radiog...@voanews.com.
Antennivahvistimen puutteessa [vahvistimen ilmeisessä mahdottomuudessa], toki johtimen vaimennuskin on oleellinen seikka, vaikka saankin suorinta reittiä käyttäen minimoiduksi kaapelien pituuden noin 15 metriin. 73, IS At 11:28 27.8.2015, you wrote: Halvalla - en tiedä, mutta tuo kaksoissuojaus eli folio + verkko lienee normaalikäyttöön riittävä. Harvemmin FM-alueilla on kovin suurta häiriökenttää ... HF:llä ja MW:llä onkin sitten toinen juttu ... Systeemin hyvää maadoitusta tai FM-virittimen ja tietokoneen välistä erotusmuuntajaakin (äänitaajuuksille) voi joskus kokeilla (ns. ground loop -vaimennus). 73 de SDXL1398/OH5MD, Ilkka M. ___ DX mailing list DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/dx ___ THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE IS FREE. He was accused by two former guerrillas seeking economic and legal benefits, incriminating Martin. The investigation determined that the work he carried out in no way could be interpreted as support for the FARC, because what he does is just evangelize and seek peace in Colombia. Among the accusations, it was mentioned that he used the shortwave broadcasters to send encrypted messages, something that was not proven, but during the period of the investigation he preferred to keep them off the air. At the end of May he was exonerated of any accusations. He also suffered the loss of his father, who started the evangelical work here in Colombia. After that I could not really have direct contact with him. I am informed he has decided to wait until all the investigation calms down and he is not currently in Colombia. The organization decided to perform preventive maintenance on the equipment which already had some flaws, but an ongoing problem in the area where the transmitters are located is the electricity supply (ups and downs, absence, etc.). After the maintenance it was decided to hold off until the situation is regularized, through a power plant fueled by diesel. Actually I have no official information about ceasing broadcasts on shortwave, but all the work that Martin and his organization developed is going through changes. I am confident that sometime soon they will reactivate transmissions. PS. Cairo frequencies are JBA carriers, so I can`t really evaluate the modulation: cagey! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** NEW ZEALAND. 9755-9760-9765, Aug 28 at 1305, DRM noise, not scheduled, but likely RNZI during what is normally a DRM hiatus, even for the special HFCC broadcasts. 9760 had been on their DRM schedule later before moving to 7330. Now from Aug 29, DRM should resume sporadic RNZI schedule as-needed for relays, mostly on weekdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, Aug 29 at 0100, pirate music, 0101 announcements in kid voices? and stops. [HCDX] Glenn Hauser logs August 28, 2015
** BIAFRA [non]. 15560, Aug 28 circa 1805, no signal here from R. Biafra (nor on 15660 as misreported elsewhere), but others further east are hearing it poorly on 18-20 UT schedule. Based on reception quality, Bill Bingham in RSA suspects the site is not Issoudun, FRANCE as previously supposed. Also, it`s off-frequency, not likely for TDF/MBR, as noted by Rodney Johnson, NV via the UTwente remote SDR: ``Hearing English (heavy African accent) right now (~1945) on 15560.45``. Bill Bingham says the alleged 06-08 broadcast has not been confirmed on 15560, but instead a DW relay via South Africa is still there from 0627 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA. 17730, Aug 28 at 2025, RHC Portuguese (very much Brazilian accent) in philatelic show, with normal modulation, not suptorted like 24 hours ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** MEXICO. 880, Aug 28 at 0556, XE NA with KRVN nulled, and tnx to dead air from KHAC-USB. 0557 ID for XEPNK and a similar FM call, plug Radio México network. This is Los Mochis, Sinaloa, 10/2 kW, surpassing 24h NSP XEV Chihuahua if it`s really on, 5/0.25 kW per IRCA Mexican Log (Glenn Hauser, oK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** MEXICO. 1300, Aug 28 at 0546.4 UT, timecheck in Spanish for 11:45; loops WSW, music. Only two XEs are in the summer UT -6 zone, XEJL in Sinaloa, 1000/250 watts; and XEP Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, 38000/200 watts, but the latter often heard here with suspected day power at night. However, it soon lost out to the CCI. No US SS stations in the UT -6 zone according to the 2015 NRC AM Log, but some Texans in UT -5. Assuming the TC is only a sesquiminute off instead of an hour off. No, the Mexican NA can be heard at 0602 UT, so local midnite in MDT zone. Spanish music still audible at 0613 by monitoring LSB only, conveniently suppressed by KHAC which had resumed modulating on USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** OKLAHOMA. 1650, Aug 28 at 0559 UT, ``AM 16-50, Arklahoma`s talk radio, KYHN, Fort Smith``, nice singing ID, bong and CBS news. So still no sign of the alleged call change to WFSM which FCC shows, and quoted by some other DX sources without really monitoring it. Here`s the callsign history page showing previous KYHN and others, but not the date WFSM supposedly started: http://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/call_hist.pl?Facility_id=87114Callsign=WFSM Aside from the news, KYHN continues to air `Red Eye Radio` far-right trucker nonsense out of WBAP overnight, and repeated a couple seconds later on adjacent local 1640 KZLS. Note: my previous report of monitoring KYHN webcast at 1700 1800 UT was on Aug 27, not 28 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** OKLAHOMA. Hi Karen, In case you haven`t heard, when KWOU [88.1 Woodward] has been audible yesterday and today, it`s marred by audio interruptions once or twice a minute, but highly variable. There`s a ringing sound and a few seconds silence before resuming, rather like internet buffering. Is that how you are feeding it? Regards, (Glenn Hauser, Enid, Aug 28, to KGOU GM Karen Holp, via DXLD) For example logged at 1332 1334 UT Aug 28, buffering bangs (gh) ** OKLAHOMA. 90.1, Aug 28 at 2105 UT, KUCO classical music, Debussy`s ``Images`` is extremely rudely interrupted by an Amber Alert --- but it`s so noisy it can`t be understood. (Later, on the news, it was a 2-year old boy abducted by his father yesterday at an OKC Walmart, recovered). A few minutes later, KUCO announcer acted as if nothing had happened ruining the music (and my seminap) --- maybe he couldn`t tell? There has got to be a better way to do this. Of course I am not opposing the idea of Amber Alerts for missing persons, but like EAS tests which aren`t immediately urgent, these should be *managed* NOT to block out programming in progress, and furthermore, done with decent modulation. Why is that so difficult? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1788 monitoring: confirmed Friday August 28 at 2130 on WRMI 15770, and now much better at 2130.5 on WRMI 7570. Next: 2330 UT Friday WRMI 5850 0630 UT Saturday HLR 7265-CUSB 1430 UT Saturday HLR 7265-CUSB [please confirm: not audible Wednesday] 1930vUT Saturday WA0RCR 1860-AM 0315vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM 2300 UT Sunday WRMI 11580 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 5110v Area 51 0330 UT Monday WRMI 9955 1100 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 0630 UT Wednesday HLR 7265-CUSB 1315 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 1430 UT Wednesday HLR 7265-CUSB 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 670, Aug 28 at 0608 UT, CBS Sports Radio, loops ESE conveniently with WSCR Chicago nulled, which is also CBS but not same programming. Obviously it`s 5 kW ``daytimer``, KHGZ Glenwood AR, cheating yet again, and blocking reception of Cuba further away (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A. 880, Aug 28 at 0557 UT, open carrier with KRVN nulled, facilitating log of XEPNK (see MEXICO), i.e. KHAC

[HCDX] Special Malay report for LItohoron and Fourka Chalkidiki 25-7 to 26-8
Please reply to zlian...@yahoo.com andlook at my book Malaysia 25 Years Survey http://goo.gl/Pi87gp I was in my parents house in Litohoron from 1st of JUly till 11.8 and them from 13/8 till 26/8 on Fourkain a relatives house Here is just the info retrieved from Nearly everyday reception of malay lang stations: 11665 Wai can be heard as early as 12till 1400 when CRI enters the freq but signal is below marginal (1200) to poor/ fair in best cases 9835 Sarawak has been heard from ca 1600 or better 1900 till 2020 the time IRIB starts its Albanian program with signals of S9+20 or more till 2120 . IN Litohoron most times after 2120 CNR on 9830 has good signal that interferes to Sarswak FM sometimes with signal more than 20 db Sgnal of Sarawak returns to good most days after 22 or 23 till fades outs after 00 or 01 depending on propagation In Fourka the signal was generally very low with nearly no qrm from CNR on 9830 . but IRIB still damages reception. There was program from Klassik nasional on 7/8 21670 R Saudi International was heard generally with good signals most times . 9525 RRI has been logged from 19/8 with fair signals (Fourka ) Unknown of it was avail before that time 15425 for R Free Sarawak , was inaudible on any of these two places (Litohoron is much better thn Fourka as ithas a more direct propagation Fourka has a mountain that reduces the signal from east ) My radio related e-books https://www.scribd.com/collections/7127419/Mini-publications my radio shack: http://goo.gl/MHAHJ1 all my pages : http://delicious.com/gr_greek1/zak _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/ ___ THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE IS FREE.
