Usein FM-alueen Es-heijastuma tapahtuu Puolan yläpuolella, jos asemia kuuluu Saksasta, Ranskasta tai Balkanilta . Puolassa oleva Pruhonicen tutkimusaseman netissä oleva ionogrammi päivittyy 2 minuutin välein ja antaa esim. foEs- ja h'Es -arvoja. Ks. http://147.231.47.3/latestFrames.htm foEs = Es-heijastuman kriittinen arvo ole kun signaali lähetetään ylöspäin, heijastuu alas. h'Es = Es-kerrostuman korkeus. Normaalista foF2-arvosta lasketaan MUF-arvo matemaattisesti, ks. alaosan D/MUF-taulukko. Olisiko kenelläkään tietoa, voidaanko ja miten - jos voidaan - foEs-arvosta voidaan laskea MUF(Es) eli Es-heijastuman kriittinen taajuus, so. taajuus, jolla Es-heijastus maksimissaan tapahtuu? Minen onneks ossaa tuosta teknisestä analytiikasta mitään. Mutta ns. suursäätilan ja ilmanpainegraafien perusteella oletan, että lähimmän 2-3 vrk:n aikana on päivittäin mahdollisuutta parin viime päivän kaltaisiin tunnin, puolentoista avauksiin. Ja mieleni tekisi tuohon päälle ennakoida, että lauantaina tai sunnuntaina vihdoin jaksaa kunnolla brittiskippi tällekin kulmalle. En tiedä, vain kepuloin. Heard HLR ID at 1515-1530 UT New letters on the air program til 1530 UT, followed immediatelly by Glenn Hauser's World of Radio program #1678 edited of July 17. ID, issue #1678 and WoR address in US given at 1545 UT. WoR 1558 UT: via WBCQ Saturday evening - no longer on air ... ; ... 11979 kHz ... Boulder propagation report at 1559 UT, GH concluding at 15.59:45 UT. log S=5-6 in Iceland, S=4-5 in Manchester central England UK. At very best - S=8-9 signal level on the excellent antenna park on Isle of Wight unit near Plymouth UK. NEGATIVE - Nothing heard on various units in Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Finland, NY USA, Switzerland, San Remo - Riviera, Sicily Italy, and Greece.
