Hi Larry,
I use http://www.topozone.com quite a bit. After I've located my general
area, I usually select the features 1:25000 and LARGE at the top of the
map. At the bottom you can choose to display UTM coordinates, decimal
degrees or deg/min/sec. I usually use the latter. At the bottom of
I think a lot of those just use the zip, which can cover a large area
(not that propagation is that sensitive to small changes in location).
As I recall, Buckmaster was a bit closer than the others when I checked
a previous QTH. You can edit the listing at QRZ to put in the correct
lat/long.

and the 30 year old neighborhood where I live isn't shown on the
map..

You must live in an area where they haven't done a survey in a long time!

Many thanks all the input folks - this was interesting.
Using the TopoZone web site provided by Jack, I
got right down to the neighborhood and street in
Belmont, NC where I live. The map showed Belmont
Jr. High instead of Belmont High School so the map
was as recent as 23 years. Clicking the
Many thanks Jack,
TopoZone gave me the correct Lat/Long. The
Lat/Long list in RAC, QRZ.COM, etc was not
exactly correct. Needed it for W6EL Prop and
my GeoClock Gray-Line Program.
