Oh, I care passionately about working them all, especially as I have only TWO to get. My initial point, appears to have been missed, that how can a rock sticking out of the Ocean a few feet ever be classified as a Country or Entity? It just makes the whole thing stupid, like working light houses or castles, why not a worked all phone booth's award, or worked 100 Rocks? Re: [DX-CHAT] new rule??
I think it has happened more than once, in the history of DXCC, that someone found a new place they thought would qualify as a new country by the existing rules and also thought they could get there first, so they pushed to have that new country established on the list and then went and operated from there. All the participants, not wishing to be left behind, went ahead and worked (or tried to work) it. And so it stuck. 73, Zack W9SZ On Fri, 16 Jun 2006, Tom Wylie wrote: Oh, I care passionately about working them all, especially as I have only TWO to get. Hey Tom I like the Worked all phone booth award. Not many of those left in our country and it would be a challenge. I can just see setting up an HF station in a phone booth. Man the terrorist alert would go out in a hurry. The idea that a rock is a country makes a LOT of sense to the country that owns it. You get the undersea oil rights for a radius of 100 miles or some such... How about the worked all McDonalds {WAM} Award. Contacts must be with mobile stations only while they are waiting in the drive through line. [DX-CHAT] Fuel Pump Noise

I went to K0BG's site and he mentions fuel pumps but oiffers no fix (unless I missed it) Anyone have experience in either eliminating or reducing fuel pump noise..short of getting another car that is Thanks Steve KF2TI Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX related items only, dx-chat@njdxa.org This is the DX-CHAT reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org

Re: [DX-CHAT] Fuel Pump Noise
Steve, the RFI reflector at Contesting.org recently had a thread on this topic. http://www.contesting.com/FAQ/rfi . [Not so recently; I just checked. See next PP.] [Saved you some searching. Here's a summation of fuel pump noise topics: http://lists.contesting.com/archives//cgi-bin/namazu.cgi?query=fuel+pumpsubmit=Search%21idxname=RFImax=20result=normalsort=score Nothing specific on Subaru, but it'll give you some ideas or maybe you can join the reflector and ask.] I'd go back to the Jeep. My Grand Cherokee gets up to 23 mpg, no RFI. Too many front end problems with Subarus with which I have been associated; offsets the savings on gas.
