In loving memory of the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division, the
U.S. Army Rangers, the 101st Airborne, and the 33,000 +
American soldiers who gave their life on the beaches of
Normandy and the farmlands of France on this day 60 years
ago that an entire continent might be free.

God Bless America and the families who gave up a son, father,
or husband for freedom on this day.

In the words of Winston Churchill.Never have have so few gave so

Steve,
That is a spectacular inaccuracy.
How well do you know the French? Through my career and for other
reasons I happen to know France and its people quite well, and they
are some of the best. Have you ever read or heard anything about the
French Resistance, and its contributions to D-Day? I knew some of
those folks personally, and they were as brave as any American, Brit
or Canadian. I think you owe them a public apology - but I don't
expect to see one.

2004-06-06 Thread Zack Widup
Let's not forget our friends to the north. Radio Canada did a radio
adaptation this morning about the first group of soldiers to land on
D-Day - Canadians. The radio show was about the throughts and
conversations of the troops who were about to land. No mention was made
of their casualties, but they were surely great.
