One minor question, tho... minor to me at least, since I haven't worked
either entity for credit yet. I see that the ADIF spec shows 511 for East
Timor and 513 for Ducie, but also notes that ARRL has the two numbers
reversed. I would assume that Logbook uses the ARRL numbers, not the ADIF
ones,
OK Charlie. I received recommendations for XMLog (xmlog.com), Xlog,
Logger32 and DXLab. I looked at them all and I really like the xmlog.
Think that would be a great starting place for him (KD5ZPX).
I have used DX4WIN for years and years but am not ready to push him into
chasing dx like I hav

Thanks Jim. That's exactly what I was looking for... and seeing the rest of
the ADIF specs was a bonus, too (since one of these days, I've got to get
around to writing an ADIF-to-dBase converter, assuming I don't find one
already written -- I've already picked up the dBase-to-ADIF one)

My son who is a no-code 2 mtr operator is studying hard to get upgraded and
today he asked me about logging programs.
I told him I though he should first off take a look at some of the FREE
logging programs that are available. I didn't want to recommend that he
jump right in and buy one like I
