[DX-CHAT] Ecolink

2006-03-28 Thread sanil

Please help me my DSL modem Huawei SmartAX MT 841
is not connecting to ecolink.
Details is given below.
*** User Information ***

Callsign: VU2TRI

*** System Information ***

Windows XP

*** Network Options ***

Shared Internet Connection: NoWireless: No

*** Security Software Configuration ***

Did not auto-detect any well-known security software on your
computer.

*** Network Configuration ***

Local IP Address: 192.168.1.2This is a local address that is not
directly reachable from the Internet. This usually indicates that your
system is using a network address translation (NAT) device, such as a router, as
part of your Internet connnection. This is a perfectly normal indication;
however, it often means that your firewall or router needs special settings to
work correctly with EchoLink. The tests below will confirm this.

Connection type: Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)Shared Internet
connection: NoWireless network connection: No

*** TCP Connectivity Test ***

The TCP test SUCCEEDED.This means that EchoLink should be able to
successfully log in to the EchoLink addressing servers and retrieve the list of
stations. No further adjustments to your TCP settings should be
required.

The UDP port 5198 test FAILED: Receive failed (10060).This means that
EchoLink cannot communicate with other stations over the Internet. Be sure
your router, firewall, or security software is allowing EchoLink to receive
messages over UDP ports 5198 and 5199, and that your Internet service provider
(ISP) has not blocked this port.

Things to check:

* Some DSL modems have a built-in firewall that must be configured to
accept UDP ports 5198 and 5199. Check the modem's documentation, or your
DSL provider's customer support, for more information.

* A few Internet service providers (ISPs) block a range of different UDP
ports, including ports 5198 and 5199 used by EchoLink. Although this is
relatively rare, check with your ISP if the rest of your configuration appears
to be OK.

PS7JN has a lot of mail pilferage. He is as good as gold. Jaco is not a $
collector. That being said he cannot answer a QSL if he doesn't get it!
Try again with an IRC or a security envelope.

RE: Re[2]: [DX-CHAT] QSL info

2006-03-28 Thread Peter Penta
Thanks for the update on webpage and news report. I have tried to comfirm
with Joca since 2003 ZW0S and later QSO's with no luck . Well over 50 bucks
in postage, registered mail, plus green stamps and IRC's. I have been in
email with Joca and know his problem exists other than in his hands. I do
not have Peter Paul Rocks comfirmed yet. I have just about given up, how
much should it cost for a confirmation? Since most do participate in the
DXCC program, maybe the logs could be emailed directly to Bill at ARRL and
they can be confirmed that way, or a stateside manager, or something..who
knows at this point. I honestly would like it confirmed but can't afford it
anymore. Depressing. I hope they catch the postal crooks and beat there ass
good.

Hi all,

Joca PS7JN and Ed PS7DX (Labre Chairman) had denounced on newspapers
and TV more then 130 mails violated by someone at the Postal Office.
See photos:

National postal mail service (Correios) and Federal Police are
investigating this issue. Hold on, and contact Ed [EMAIL PROTECTED] for
alternative mail route by now.

Why don't DXers in countries with unreliable mail use a QSL manager?
Seems like common sense to me.

Two words: Green Stamps
Can't think of any other reason.

That said, I wish Joca would go with a stateside or EU manager, or
even a stateside mail-drop.
