[DX-CHAT] ER QSL's

2007-02-03 Thread jcowens1
Moldovia is one of the better Russian Breakup federations for getting QSL cards
from. I have 7 confirmed out of 10 sent and 15 worked, most of those via the
bureau. That is pretty good for a BU Federation.

2007-02-03 Thread Mike(W5UC) Kathy(K5MWH)

Greetings All:

I am trying to confirm a contact on 160 meters with J52US from 1988
and/or 1989. I showed that the QSL manager was WA8JOC. This morning
I looked Him up on QRZ and sent a e-mail message to the address
listed, but it bounced. Does anyone know anything about this
individual or who may have those logs now?

Have a look at a map, Moldova has never been a part of Russia. We even
have another country between us, called Ukraine :) What about their
QSLs, even I had problems confirming them from here.

Hi Mike,

I looked back found that the Operator was K8MN his call on qrz.com lists
J52US as a previous call 1988-89 so he may have his own logs now.

Thanks Tom. I searched on WA8JOC in my browser and found another
e-mail for him. Already got a prompt, affirmative reply back from
him. Wahoo!!

2007-02-03 Thread K2DBK - David

I've got a card from ER2NB for a PSK contact in June 2001. I
used a different logger then and didn't keep track of the method used to
QSL accurately then, so I'm not sure if it was direct or via the bureau,
though I see his entry on qrz.com says he qsls using both of
those.
I too have a handful of cards out from several of the others (ER4DX, in
particular) that I've never gotten back.

I've also never received
anything from ER-land. But I have SEEN the card from ER1DA at a
local ham's house; he claimed it took about 3 weeks to get it.
I'm going to give it one more shot (tried twice already) and if nothing,
I'll can it until I can work something with a manager or a ER/***
call.
Work the ER mult in a contest for the points, but use caution with
QSL'ing!

Never. Save your money. I think both those clowns probably QSL
one

out of every 1000 or so just to keep the rumor going that the
reply.

Over the years I've tried registered, recorded delivery,
regular

mail, with green stamps, IRCs and Moldovan mint stamps. Only
ones I

ever got back were ER1QQ, and even then, only 2 out of 5
requests came

 through.

I won't even work any native hams from that country, and
especially

 not in contests.

 Cheers,

 Peter,
