Re: [DX-CHAT] Most Wanted
3Y0E was a tough one from here. Many of my fellow DXers in the area couldn't hear a peep, we worked them twice (once each, KC2OYY and me). Some of these guys here have large antennas on tall towers and had to wait for a really good opening. ZS8 I just couldn't get because by the time I get home there was no propagation... that is until Petrus popped up one night while I was cruising the bands, a few calls and I put him in the log! Same with 9N Nepal. Waited patiently until Dov 9N7DX showed up on the cluster, really weak signals, but after some patience I finally got him in the log. It truly is a chase. As much as I truly appreciate organized DXpeditions, sometimes the ones you really appreciate the most are the truly difficult ones to get. I may not have honor roll, I don't even have 300 countries (I have 221 confirmed in LoTW, 277 worked and almost 250 confirmed including cards) but I do have a fair bit of rare ones in the log. I guess it can only get more difficult from here. 73 Ryan, N2RJ On Fri, Jan 27, 2012 at 8:00 PM, Jim Reisert AD1C jjreis...@alum.mit.edu wrote: On Thu, Jan 26, 2012 at 6:45 PM, Nick W9UM wrote: I've just looked at the most recent Most Wanted list from clublog.org. Longevity and persistence pays.Yet others like Turkmenistan (EZ) have disappeared from the airwaves. If it were easy, it wouldn't be as fun or as rewarding. Absolutely and I am happy it is difficult, otherwise, there would be do challenge nor a feeling of accomplishment. By the way EZ8BP was on 10M last week. I assume he is good as he is quite active. K1VSK Unfortunately not. Amateur radio is still banned in Turkmenistan. Some locals are getting on with their old licences or with made up calls, but it is officially banned by the government. So while he may well have been in EZ, it is technically an illegal operation and will not be counted by the DXCC desk. Amateurs in Turkmenistan are reportedly trying to get this restriction removed, but so far they have been unsuccessful. 73, Paul VE1DX --- To unsubscribe or subscribe to this list. Re: [DX-CHAT] Are your HK0NA CW contacts showing up in the online log?
Thanks for the replies, guys. Jay, the dates were the 24th and one early on the 25th. It seems other Ops are missing Qs in this time frame as well. Glad to see it isn't just me. I'll hold off on trying to rework them as it's just band fills now, and I'm sure others still need them for a brand new one. 73 es gl, Mike, K2CD --- To unsubscribe or subscribe to this list.
