Re: [DX-CHAT] 7000 DXpedition radio?
We used the IC-7000 on Scarborough Reef and the radio performed extremely well.. It basically sat in the open air 24hrs a day and never missed a beat. No it does not have a second receiver, but that is only really handy for chasing DX not being DX. [DX-CHAT] New DX Resource
All http://www.dxreference.com I have created a new web page that is Wiki based and intended to be for community collaboration. On this page is a listing of each DXCC Entity, each entity has its own page that contains several informational areas. I am soliciting the amateur community for assistance in filling in the information. I have provided an example to show how I would like for each to look. Within each entry you will be able to understand its history, the current DXCC status, challenges with obtaining permission to activate, the IOTA reference, a list of all previous DXpeditions, links to other sites that contain pertinent information. For those of you that have used www.wikipedia.com, it is the same software they use and will have the same look and feel. Please do not post copyrighted material unless you have written permission to reproduce it and can provide it. Please include links to the external sites as well. In order to contribute all you have to do is click on the entity and click Edit at the top of the page. It would be really nice if you registered on the site so that your edits are attached to a login. This will allow for us to send you an update if the information you provide is disputed or is changed. ** LOGO CONTEST ** See the main wiki page for details on the logo contest for DXReference.com -- 73 - PaulK4UJ BS7H, FS, KP2, KP4, PJ6, PJ7,VP2E, ZF2UJ == http://www.dx-is.com USA Spiderbeam Distributor http://www.dx-is.org WAP DX Cluster http://www.dx-is.org/cgi-bin/wap.cgi Skype: dx.k4uj == Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX related items only, dx-chat@njdxa.org This is the DX-CHAT reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org

[DX-CHAT] DX News Service
All, I have created a web site (blog actually) at http://www.dx-is.com/news designed to be a central and free distribution point for DX news. The type of content intended would be * DXpedition announcements (new announcements, updates, etc.) * Stories of DXpeditions * General news stories related to happenings in rare DX locations The benefit of a blog is that you can point your favorite browser that supports RSS (like Firefox) to the RSS feed and the news headlines is delivered to your browser, so you don't have to visit the web page to view the headlines. Alternatively you can use an RSS reader, to gather the news. Additional benefits of this being in a blog is that it keeps a copy of each post for historical purposes, which means at any point in time you can go search the archives for previous posts. You must register to be able to post, and when you register, please use your CALLSIGN as your username. Each new user will be able to Write a Post. Once you write the post, click SAVE and it will be saved as draft. A moderator will review the content and then publish it. We have multiple moderators so there should be little delay in getting near real-time content updated. In order for this to be successful, it will take YOU, the users to post your DX News announcement/stories etc. Your content will make this work, I can not do it alone. The best part is.. this service is FREE to use. -- 73 - PaulK4UJ BS7H, FS, KP2, KP4, PJ6, PJ7,VP2E, ZF2UJ == http://www.dx-is.com USA Spiderbeam Distributor http://www.dx-is.org WAP DX Cluster http://www.dx-is.org/cgi-bin/wap.cgi Skype: dx.k4uj == Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX related items only, dx-chat@njdxa.org This is the DX-CHAT reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org
Re: [DX-CHAT] FREE logging program
There is a DXpedition version of WinTest available that is free... This is the closest thing that you will ever get to the old CT under windows. All the major contest stations seem to be migrating to this. Paul K4UJ On 6/30/07, Bill [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I am looking for a good free logging program to use in contesting and DXPeditions.
