I am using a 7 year old Kenwood TS-870. I was
tuning around a few days ago and found a very strong carrier at 20.000 mHz. I
don't remember hearing it before. It is inside the rig and is not coming
from the antenna. Antennas switched off and input grounded. Is this
common to this rig or has it developed a problem? If you have an 870
please email me direct and tell me what you have found. I had this rig
worked on a year or so ago and in calibrating it there is a jumper you connect
to be able to hear the master oscillator and I am wondering if the person left
that jumper connected. Thanks in advance for reading this. I don't know
any other site I can ask this question.
