Hi,
It's been a few years since I've heard DX signals from Navassa KP1 and
Desecheo KP5. I've heard of piracy and of drug trafficking, and that US
Coast Guard denied access/ security. Today permission might be given by
US Fish and Wildlife Service?
Does that mean access for a small DXpedition is
Mal, VK6LC reported today that he will be operating on 6,7 and 8

He is currently operating at VK6LC/4 on (Magnetic Island).

Hi to all...
sorry for short notice...VE1REC/Portable...
I will be on McNabs Island (NA-010), in the Halifax Harbour, and try again
to activate Maughers Beach Lighthouse (ARLHS CAN-308) this time from on the
Island, rather than my previous attempts from the mainland line of sight or
visible
A dxpedition to KP5 and KP1 would be welcome by all.Except nowdays it is so expensive
to travel and set up and hard to find operators with the time and energy to pull off
something like this.Even a small scale operation would hit 20 to 30 thousand. Ducie

If there is no chance of getting permission from any government agency to
go to Desecheo and Navassa, and even if permission were granted, the

I think this is DX News so here goes. I have been to
Navassa Island and operated from there and would like to go back, so I have been
looking into it for the last several months. I guess that most DXers don't
know that the ARRL received a call from an official in Washington DC

I am requesting (respectfully) that the now on-going KP1/KP5
discussion (and it has become just that) be moved to the DX-CHAT
reflector.
In an effort to entice you, I have posted an interesting website
concerning Desecho Island there for your perusal. It is very
informative
Thanks for
Here we go again this could go on forever please use DX-CHAT. thank you

Two comments.just because the situation exists today relative to permission or
risk, doesn't mean that it was always that way, or will be in the future. Should that
be the case, we'd be forever having the DXAC/DXCC folks updating the list. Spratley
is relatively easy nowadays, yet
