Hi all
I was unaware of this activity and would agree with W3UR that operations
such as this "blurr" the distinction between legal Amateur radio activity
and illegal spectrum activity. Virus is perhaps not a strong enough word. It
is a cancer that could destroy our hobby in years to come. We are already
under attack from hundreds of thousands of unlicenced Asian and South
American interlopers using all our bands for personal communications.
Freebanding raises level of this illegal activity to our detriment.

Unfortunately, little can be done to stop operations such as this except by
using commercial sanctions to make our views known to any manufacturer that
supports that freeband operation. Lobbying the ARRL will help along with
individual amateurs and clubs taking a stand and withdrawing financial
support to dual DXpeditions which include Freebanding.
