When I started using libaccountsservice in indicator-sound I had a test that
basically started it up, connected to a mock and shut it down. At the end of
this it checked the references to the system bus object, and found there to be
11 extra. It seems that probably
libcanberra just wraps around GStreamer and Pulse which are parts of our
current audio stack. It's just small convenience API that we already
support in main. Adding full Qt support to indicator-datetime seems
kinda crazy (it doesn't have any Qt deps today)

This is definitely a unity8 bug. We don't raise the app in the
indicator, and in fact we don't even close the menu. We pass the signal
back, and then it raises itself.

error launching calendar/g+ from gmail webapp
The code is exactly the same. I think the difference comes from the
different audio modes, where one can be alert and the other multimedia.
We have an ongoing discussion with design on the best way to implement
this, I'll add the topic of which volume the notification should show to
that
