I found the reason, but do not know how to solve it: not only the SteppIR but a
radio via USB Router and a rotor control stop to wrk from time to time: USB
FTDI/RS232 converters stop to communicate with PC and i must plug them out and
in again to make them work again!
Just found why my DX4WIN often freezes and/or stops controlling SteppIR and
rotor on my new Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium laptop: USB FTDI RS232 devices
(MicroHAM Keyer/USB Router, FTDI USB/RS232 converters for SteppIR and rotor

Here is something to try:
Right click on the shortcut to start the program. Chose Properties, then
the Compatibility tab. At the bottom, it says Privilege Level - click the
box Run this program as an administrator.
