Hi Bill, Ask your friend if he has the mode that he is trying to log checked in awards . If it isn't checked I don't don't think it will log the contact. (reports/awards/mode group) Also make sure he also has the other boxes checked for the qso he is trying to log. Good

[Dx4win] QSO won't log problem

A friend called me for help with dx4win but I'm baffled.  He's a long time user of DX4Win but hasn't been on the reflector before (he's signing up right now - W2KKZ Bob) but is hung up trying to log the contact. He has his log open and is trying to add a new QSO.  He hits F9 and the log box
