Problem : qso entered in qso screen as logged , shows as needed when generating
“ NEEDED COUNTRIES on 15m
Using DX4WIN version 9.09.1259
Windows 10.
Worked FW8DY Feb 3 1969 - 15m - CW
QSO information is logged in DX4WIN as “Y” to confirmed ( “C”)
Going to REPORTS , NEEDED LISTING ,
About 4 or 5 times now have received the FATAL ERROR message with the note.
country.dat file missing when attempting to access DX4WIN.
Until the other day, the remedy was simple. Copy and paste the country.dat
file to the SAVE folder and all was good.
Now, after following the steps

Happy to report problem solved..
In short, my problem was having DX4WIN installed under C:\Program Files
(x86).
Installing in the root of the C drive (C:\DX4W707) solved the problem.
I did not know Windows Vista and later versions (I have Windows 10) put lots
of protections on the
