Flam, Yes, DX4Win will key PTT (and the CW port) from your PC's parallel port. You'll need to build a simple one transistor switch, and which will fit inside the hood of a 25 pin LPT plug. See either the DX4Win or the MMTTY Help files for excellent details. If you have a printer connected to the parallel port, you can still use that same port for your PTT keying.
I operate lots of RTTY with DX4Win, and clicking on packet spots sets my rig (an Icom) mode = RTTY only when the expression "RTTY" is in the spot. Otherwise DX4Win will usually set the mode = CW (depends on other band settings in the DX4Win preferences).
