[Dx4win] Orion timeouts with DX4WIN?

2004-01-07 Thread Duane A Calvin
A friend who had just received an Orion has found difficulties with DX4WIN as follows: 1. Sometimes when sending CW from the DX4WIN keyboard, he sees long delays (1-2 seconds) before sending commences. It never stutters once it starts, but occasionally hesitates. 2. If he sets Retries to 1 on

I do not see timeouts but at times slow response in the DX4WIN program. I don't use the keyboard for sending CW but prefer to do it myself. However at times I do see some delay moving from item to item on the QSO window. My system is Window 98 running on a 400 Meg machine with 128 Meg of ram. The

Anyone have any hints on doing RTTY with DX4WIN 6.02 and MMTTY keying FSK via the COM port 2 ? This combo works so well with Writelog that it should do as well with my other favorite!!! Thanks and 73's Cort K4WI Courtney Judd K4WI / NA4W 2300 County Road 61 Uniontown, Al. 36786

In the past, I had 1 second delays before sending CW and it was also choppy. I found that two of my com ports had the same IRQ selected. Now my Win98SE 266 MHz computer with 256meg ram no longer sends choppy CW and the sending delay is a fraction of what it used to be. Since your friend is

I am having problems printing labels. Whenever I mark a QSO and then print the label (after saving!), I get one lable that says Method = Buro. This wastes two labels as it skips one and one has the message on it. Any ideas how to get the message to stop printing? 73 de W5KAP Kenn Paulini

I should have added that it would be nice if we could try lowering the baud rate but that seems to be fixed in the radio... Tom - Original Message - From: Peter E. Beedlow [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Duane A Calvin [EMAIL PROTECTED]; dx4win@mailman.qth.net Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent:

It's a remote possibility, but Win98 suffered from a jerky mouse and miscellaneous delay problem when an HP LaserJet 1100 was attached. There was, eventually, a patch from HP to fix it. Let me know if you need a pointer. Win98 will not be supported much longer. Am happy with Win XP -- much more
