[Dx4win] DX4WIN.TCP updated 11 April 2007

2007-04-14 Thread Dave Sharred
Thanks again to Jim for updating this. I will put it on my PC later

I only started using Telnet recently; and have a question.

When I open the Packet window, can I make it default to my preferred node,
or do I have to select one every time ?

I still use DX4Win 6.04

You can download the latest DX4WIN.TCP file (list
of DX cluster nodes reachable via telnet) from:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/cluster.htm

The release notes are as follows:

ED7ZAB-5 Changed city to C?rdoba
JF1OCQChanged IP address to w1vx.atnifty.com
K5PLD-2 Changed IP address to 67.10.132.43:8000
N2KI Changed city to Washingtonville
PA5KT-15 Changed IP address to www.remijn.net:7530
VA3SBXDeleted DX Spider node
VE1ATT-2 Deleted CLX node
ZL2AQY-10 Changed IP address to olson.net.nz:9000

The list is now in alpha-numeric callsign
order. Nodes that are currently unreachable are no longer included.

If there are any nodes that you use that are NOT
in the file, please let me know.

Use a text editor to move your favorite node to the very top of the TCP
file. It will be automatically highlighted when you open the Connect
window and all you will have to do is hit return to select it. I am not
aware of any way to make this automated, you will still need to go through
this minimal selection process.

[Dx4win] Call window question

2007-04-14 Thread Ken Kopp
Is there a QSO preferences setting that will produce all log
entries for, say WN5TLL, W5TLL and W5TLL/9 as an
example? I've tried Fuzzy and I have the impression this
setting won't be fuzzy when looking at/for the PREFIX
 portion of a call.

Subject: [Dx4win] Call search - a more specific question
Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

My thanks to those who replied to my earlier question relating to
this call window searching. I should have been more specific in
stating what I'd like to be able to do.

I'm entering 56 years worth of log books into my DX4WIN and
would like to know when I first tab out of the Callsign field
into the next field if the call I've just typed is already in the log in
some form.

For example; ... if WN5XYZ is already in the log and then I add
W5XYZ and/or W5XYZ/7 I'd like WN5TKI to appear in the
Same Call window in the same way it does in a fuzzy F8 search,
BUT before the final Entry Key is hit. Or even better ... information
from the previous entry would be automatically placed in the matching
fields of the new entry as it's now done if the entry is an exact match
of the call already in the log. This would allow me to retreive
information
from the already-in-the-log listing and add it to the new, but slightly
different call entry.

This is different than an after-the-entry F8 search. Can I do this?
