[Dx4win] Callsign Alert
Seems like there is NOT enough room to add the necessaary call sign alerts. Like the group at YU8/. Is there a way to get all the callsigns in the Callsign Alert box under Prefrences? I'm of room ver5.2 I want to add 6 callsigns (YU8/ ) and of cause VP6DX. Any work arounds, or fixes? Thanks, 73, gl Bernie/WO2N

The space is limited. You can do one of two things: - Create a new Kosovo DXCC entity and map YU8 to it (see my app. note for an error-free process for creating a new entity). - Just map the YU8 prefix to another entity you have NEVER worked. Either way, those spots will come up Yellow. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C/?, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Feb 16 13:16:20 2008 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Jim Reisert AD1C) Date: Sat Feb 16 13:21:23 2008 Subject: [Dx4win] Kosovo Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] The DXCC rules are very clear about when a political entity can be added to the DXCC list: http://www.arrl.org/awards/dxcc/rules.html#sii An Entity will be added to the DXCC List as a Political Entity if it meets one or more of the following criteria: a) The entity is a UN Member State. b) The entity has been assigned a callsign prefix bloc by the ITU. You are right, there will be no parent. Then it NEEDS to meet either UN member, or prefix allocation to be included on the DXCC list. This will probably take weeks then Unless they re-write the rules to adapt to this situation... [Dx4win] Connectivity to ICOM 756 Pro II
Does anyone have an ICOM 756 Pro II that works correctly with DX4WIN? We are not using the CT 17/ICOM interface but are using a USB cable/port. We know the cable is working since it works with another log program perfectly and instantaneousely. We keep trying DX4WIN but the results are unpredictable. Sometimes you get the band/frequency information and sometimes you don't. I keep trying and am waiting for a reply from technical support but thus far no luck. I've had a Pro-II connected to DX4WIN for years and have never had a problem. Make sure that you have CI-V Transceive set to OFF on the Others Set menu, because that can cause issues. I personally have my rig set to a baud rate of 19200 and the CI-V address set to 64h, and of course the settings match in DX4WIN. Each contest I work is assigned a group number. So using F8 and the Group Number I am able to isolate all the QSO's from a particular contest. One of the advantages of this is for QSL request when I am unable to find the claimed contact by searching on the other station call sign. Then I am able to at least narrow down the log to the contest and search through that. There are many different reasons for not finding the call in my log, from miscopied on my part or needing to decipher the call on the QSL call that was used during the contests. By narrowing the log down to the specific contest I have been successful in either finding these contacts or verifying they definitely are not in the log. Sure I could search by date and time, but those aren't always correct either. Then if the request is from 15 years ago the search on time date will bring up 15 years of contacts. Hope this helps, Bill AC0W Dave Sharred [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi All; I maybe missed the point, but I really wonder what you guys are doing to even think about running out of Group numbers.
