[Dx4win] keyboard update

2009-01-11 Thread Courtney Judd K4WI
Well I promised that I would inform all when I settled my keyboard options!
ended up purchasing an Adesso WKB-3200UB wireless 2.4 Ghz with built in
optical trackball, scroll wheel and hot keys. Turned out to be just what the
doctor ordered everything in one place... no more reaching for the
trackball. It works great with Writelog... still finding out new things...
the scroll wheel will move the frequency of the rig when in the logging
window... way cool! Haven't played with it in DX4WIN yet but expect good
things also. Best $70 that I have spent in a while. 73's Cort K4WI

[Dx4win] Cabrillo to ADF Converter

2009-01-11 Thread Ted Huf
I buddy of mine did the PAQP using WB3W software that only exports a
Cabrillo file. He would like to get these contacts into DX4WIN. Does
anyone have suggestions for a tool to do this?

Re: [Dx4win] Cabrillo to ADF Converter

2009-01-11 Thread Don Cassel
Ted,

An old standby is http://www.storm.ca/~ve3iay/cbr2adif.html to convert your
Cabrillo to ADIF which can then be imported into DX4IN.

[Dx4win] New Application Note: DXCC Award Tracking

2009-01-11 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I've written a new application note entitled, DXCC Award Tracking.
You can find it here:

   http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/dxcc.htm

This is in response to the various questions on the reflector in recent
weeks about DXCC submissions. It attempts to cover the following topics:

* The DX4WIN Submission Process

* I already have DXCC Award credits, but have never tracked them in
   DX4WIN. What do I do?

* How does LoTW Complicate Things?

This is my first draft and is a work in progress. If there are typos or
other mistakes, or something isn't clear, or isn't addressed, please let
me know so I can update it.

[Dx4win] ADIF to DX4WIN log conversion version 3.2

2009-01-11 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I have released version 3.2 of ADIF to DX4WIN, you can read more here:

   http://dx4win.ad1c.us/adif2dxq/

This version fixes the Name duplication problem when
converting/importing a NAQP log. Note that if the operator's name was
already in your log from a previous QSO (Notes for this Call field),
you will still get a second copy of the name if the same call was
found in the NAQP log (but not a third, fourth, etc.).

If you find any problems in the program or documentation, let me know.
If you need a conversion added, send me your ADIF file and tell me
what contest it is for, and which logging program produced it.

[Dx4win] E44M

2009-01-11 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
Here is QSL information for E44M (from the most recent OPDX bulletin).
If you logged this in DX4WIN, the manager will show up as IZ0BTV
(direct address), even though both QSL managers are listed in the
country file. This really applies to the new country file, which I
haven't actually released yet, but will in a few hours I hope.

E4, PALESTINE (Update). The E44M operation is now QRT. For this operation you
can either QSL direct, by the Bureau or LoTW (in reasonable time). An
online log search is available at:
  http://www.hamradioweb.org/e44mlogsearch.html
PLEASE NOTE: The QSL Manager for BUREAU QSL CARDS is SP3DOI.
The QSL Manager for DIRECT QSL CARDS is IZ0BTV.
Also, BUREAU QSL CARDS can be requested via E-mail at: qsle...@gmail.com
Your request must be clear and complete with all the details (your
callsign, time, RST, date, mode...). Please don't send them multiple
E-mails for each QSOs, only one (with all your QSOs listed) will be
enough. Any incomplete E-mails without these will be ignored. BUREAU
cards will be managed after the direct ones. For updates, watch the
following Web pages.
