[Dx4win] Window positions on a wide screen monitor

2010-12-17 Thread W2LE
I just got a wide screen monitor and wondering if there is a way to
change the startup position of the top window (the one that lists the
version of DX4W and my call.)

I've found that putting it in the top center works out much better, with
the log window in the left top corner, and with the packet window below
that.

I'm running 8.04

You can put it where you want. Just drag and resize. It should be saved when
you close DX4Win. If your window positions are not sticky you have an issue.

2010-12-17 Thread W2LE
Yes, I can move the windows, but the positions are not saved.
I did find in the help files - under Preferences|Screen - a note that
says the main window will be in the top left corner. Checking 'Leave
all windows in original position' doesn't make any difference.

[Dx4win] No voice announcements.

2010-12-17 Thread Dave Earnest

My DX4WIN dx cluster voice announcement stopped working.

Under Preferences/Control, I have the PSK set at Default.

Windows sounds, PSK audio, etc., etc., dvd music, internet sounds, are all
coming through, but the DX4WIN program sounds are not. Also, don't get audio
(cw) from my DX Monitor program.

Any ideas on how to solve this will be welcome.

Dave Earnest

Re: [Dx4win] Window positions on a wide screen monitor

2010-12-17 Thread Mel
If your window positions are not being saved it sounds like you don't
have write access to your config file. If you are installed on Vista or
Windows 7 makes sure you have not installed DX4Win in the Program Files
directory. You should be able to relocate any window including the root
window anywhere you like.

[Dx4win] Issues with RTTY Control Panel and Win 7

2010-12-17 Thread Karl Oyster
Hi folks,

Couple of questions in search of answers:

1. I have found that when I want to minimize DX4W 8.04 screen which shows the
control panel for the MMTTY screen, the control panel will NOT minimize. Any
ideas of how to correct this?

2. I have also found that when I want to maximize DX4W 8.04 (after minimizing
it), I cannot do so simply by clicking on the DX4W icon in the bottom control
panel of WIN 7. The only thing I can do for it is to shut down the program and
restart it, at which time all is as it should be. Any ideas of how to correct
this, as well? Similarly, although I have checked the box for “show callsign
in the task bar (or whatever they call it) it will show ONLY if I have the
cursor over the icon for the program. Not sure what this is about, but I
remember having the most recently spotted callsign there all the time with XP.

3. Finally, I have also found that windows will NOT stay as they should with
the “keep original positions for windows” box checked. In my case they’re
close to where they were, but the sizes of the various boxes/windows will be
slightly larger (or smaller) than the original and consequently overlap other
boxes or leave fairly significant blank spaces between the various boxes.

I would appreciate any info anyone has on these issues. I’ve jumped through
every hoop I can find about these things, all with no results of a positive
nature, much less a solution for it.

Thanks in advance,
