Maybe do it like Callsign Alert, but add entries for:

 - list of spotters to block
 - list of DX stations (spotted calls) to block (like F0OL)

I don't necessarily think you want all these calls to be in

BATCHRUN would have to delay the starting of DX4WIN until after the
VE7CC software is up and running, before it tries to connect.

The VE7CC software gives you a lot of filtering flexibility, more than
Paul can probably add to DX4WIN. I do agree that having to download

excessive.

Yes, you are correct...I insert a delay to allow VE7CC to load...then
BATCHRUN starts CW Skimmer... delay, then Bandmaster (100% better Bandmap

Unfortunately, DX4WIN does not connect to the last used Internet Connection.
If it did, then the entire process would kick off with one click.

Paul took us part of the way there by moving the last used Internet

further by actually automating the connect. Maybe in the future

Additionally, most of the 'other' logging programs allow for an automatic
upload/ download of LOTW...enter your user name/ password in your

confirmations...without going through the multiple steps of the current
version of DX4WIN...(Jim, maybe you can write a standalone app which will

2011-12-09 Thread Mel
I believe Paul tried to implement the auto-login to a cluster last
version but it didn't make the release due to some technical issues.
Maybe next time.

The trouble with auto login to LotW, automatic retrieval of data from
QRZ (other than the paid subscription to the XML feed) and similar
features is it generates a lot of maintenance headaches. I prefer DX4Win
to be stable, and I think Paul is past the point he likes to tinker with
DX4Win for the sake of tinkering.

So I think we might see auto-login to the spotting networks, and we
might see support for the QRZ com XML interface next major release...
but I'm pretty skeptical about the rest.

Pretty busy weekend planned, but I'll try and get on 10 for a couple of
hours anyway. Should be interesting...

I don't necessarily think you want all these calls to be in

I think what people really want is a way to auto-log into the DX
cluster when it starts. I know the VE7CC software can do that, but
BATCHRUN would have to delay the starting of DX4WIN until after the
VE7CC software is up and running, before it tries to connect.

This all assumes that Paul finds a way to add auto-connect to a future
 version of DX4WIN

The VE7CC software gives you a lot of filtering flexibility, more than
Paul can probably add to DX4WIN. I do agree that having to download
and install a 4MB program simply to block one spotter's call seems
 excessive.
