[Dx4win] Long Calls
After the CQWW contest this weekend, the DX4WIN import of the bizarre call of OM2015TITANIC was problematic. It posted to DX4WIN as OM2015TITANI. I'm not sure if DX4WIN has field length limitation of 12 characters or if something got lost in the translation. I exported my Writelog file in ADIF format, used AD1C's conversion utility and then imported the .DXQ into DX4WIN. The Writelog ADIF file shows a field length of 13 for the call of OM2015TITANIC. The DXQ file also shows 13 characters but all subsequent data is shifted one byte to the right. When the DXQ was imported the call was truncated to 12 bytes and other fields had erroneous data due to the shift. I am assuming the CALL is a fixed field in the database which would require some work to correct. But perhaps not. In any event, in the likely event more of these extended calls show up, is there a suggestion on how to handle the?
