David, I run WSJT first to get rig control, then run DX4, without rig
control, , click through the com port exception popups and then just
connect with internet spots.
I too just do a import from WSJT into DX4 periodically..

I do #2 and create a personal log that I overwrite with new LoTW info for
JT-Alert, Import (ignore duplicates) like the other file. I actually then
have the WSJT-X log file as a backup and my JTAlert as my real one.
Remember you do not need to go before July 1, 2017 for uploads since FT8 did
not

For #2, what I do is to periodically do an import from wsjtx_log.adi into
D4W. I don't ever clear that log and have the import set to ignore duplicate
QSOs. I use D4W for my "log of record" so I don't care about exporting
confirmed QSOs to WSJT-X. It's not automated
I am interested in running JTAlert with DX4WIN. A question was asked
last year about this, and Joe Subich, W4TV, posted the following:
