I have never had a problem with the '*' and Excel. I convert VUCC to CSV then edit to one page for reference and saved to .XLSX. I also do DXCC with an Excel macro (.XLSM) to format and remove deleted that were not worked. Again, for a reference paper I take with me. Dan KI6X -Original

Be aware if you are exporting a DX4WIN report as a csv file into Excel: DX4WIN uses an asterisk (*) to denote credited entities in a report. This character is a special reserved character in Excel, and attempting to use the raw csv export file from a DX4WIN report will therefore give some weir
