I have found a program called "everything" (Freeware from https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/) extremely handy in tracking files down. It searches all your drives (hard or SSD) for a file name or wildcarded name you specify (Ex: *.DXQ) and then displays a list. You can sort by any column displayed by clicking the column heading. I often sort by the "Date Modified" column so most recently modified files will show first. That's usually when I find the file created some place I wasn't expecting. It also supports MANY languages. Yes, I use group numbers for such situations. I assign a new group number for each contest log I import using Jim AD1C excellent ADIF2DXQ program. Besides contests I also have long entries for my previous call K6ACZ and N7V when I operated on Coast Guard day as a Coast Guard AUX Comm Sta. With the SAME CALL widow open when you enter a call into the log CALLSIGN window all past contacts you have had with the station will show in the SAME CALL window. In the GROUP NAME column it will show how the call was previously logged, such as 2023 ARRL DX Contest or N7V USCG AUX. There will be a separate line for each previous contact. [Dx4win] CW announce, nil
Hi , I got the voice announce working by allowing Windows media files to open it ,from the Sound file in Dx4win save I don’t see where the CW files are and how to activate the CW announce ? It’s just used to work by choosing it. Default beep works and the sound audio works but the CW is dead. Hi Brad, I suggest using Group Numbers and Selections for this. Set Group number for QSOs in your N9EN log to 1 Set Group number for QSOs in your W4A log to 2 Merge W4A log into N9EN Give the group numbers names Define a Selection for N9EN QSOs Define a Selection for W4A QSOs (Check the Group number box) Doing so will show all QSOs by default but activating a Selection can limit the QSOs used for reports etc to a single group The Same Call Window will show the Group name(s) for a callsign --Paul PS Writing this took longer than actually doing these steps!
