[Dx4win] RTTY Window is open - can't get rid of it

2009-12-28 Thread Greg Clark
Ver 8.03 - I opened DX4WIN today and all of a sudden I have the RTTY
window open - and I can't get rid of it. I can minimize it, but Alt F4
won't get rid of it and I can't remove it with any of the usual methods.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

That was it Jim - gone now. I've never even opened the RTTY pref tab before so
was perplexed. Appreciate the assist.

In your RTTY preferences, change RTTY type to none. Then restart DX4WIN.

I can't figure out how to dupliate the problem here.

[Dx4win] Unable to select TCP for packet

2009-03-11 Thread Greg Clark
Running 7.07.02 here.

I connect to packet via the internet/TCP selection - usually W9ZRX.

Last night packet was working fine when I went to bed. Overnight, Windows did
an update and shut DX4WIN down then rebooted.

This morning, I re-start DX4WIN, am told about a back-up that I should save, I
do. Start the program, select the log to work from then attempt to connect to
packet via the internet, to W9ZRX as mentioned - nothing. All of the TCP
options are there, all the different connection points, no matter what I
select, I get no connectivity - and yes I do have an internet connection.

Any suggestions?

Mel -
I had one file that had a tilde on the extension - deleted it.  I then deleted
the .PUT file.  Restarted the program - still no connectivity.

Assuming that it is just DX4Win that can't connect... I would guess a problem
with the spot file

Close DX4Win. Delete DX4Win.PUT. Also delete files whose suffix starts with a
tilde. Then restart DX4Win

Re: [Dx4win] Unable to select TCP for packet

2009-03-11 Thread Greg Clark
Update - I am able to connet to SOME TCP entries.  I cannot connect to my local
W9ZRX connection.  Can anyone confirm that W9ZRX is up and running for me?  So
far I have tried CS0RCL, AA2MF, AI4OF.  Those worked, asked for my call and or
password, and I was in.  I'm not checking them all but I hit one that works
then others that don't.

Maybe I selected the 10 or 15 that didn't work the first time - now I'm getting
some that do?

Greg,

Do you have to allow DX4WIN to go out on the Internet; virus checker,
firewall etc?

[Dx4win] How to export log to ADIF?

2009-02-14 Thread Greg Clark
Using v6.01 here. I am trying to export my log to ADIF..I'm not having any
luck. I've gone to FILEIMPORT/EXPORT then select ADIFbut I'm lost from
there. I've looked in the help to no avail. I'd also like to select a date
range to EXPORT to ADIF.but one step at a time.

Any help would be appreciated.

[Dx4win] Packet window and WWV

For AR clusters, SH/W is an invalid command. You must use SH/WWV.

What am I doing wrong?
When I select Packet function keys, it shows the following command string

WWV| SH/W/2%M

Is that correct?

[Dx4win] DX4WIN and Pinging

I have the same problems.. With my telnet cluster of first preference. I
can't stay connected beyond a couple of hours. I asked this same question
about 6 months ago, and what I was told is that although many have asked for
the feature, for some reason, it is not perceived as necessary.. So, we
 just keep getting disconnected.

Paul.. Please relent and give us a pinging feature in a future upgrade
(and I will quickly upgrade to the newest edition.. ! J ). Add a
switch to make it something that people that don't want it can turn it off,
but all of us who could really use it, could turn it on. variable ping
interval 10 minutes to 2 or 3 hours.. Sounds like a plan..

[Dx4win] importing NA Contest files

Use the ADIF or ADF files as they are named in NA. Thats the method I use, no

Has anyone else been successful importing NA contest files into DX4WIN?
 Thanks.

[Dx4win] New Boy has found another problem

2002-07-13 Thread Greg Clark
Your main log file must be OPEN to be able to IMPORT. I get the same results if
I do not open a main log file (where all of your QSO's are or going to be). In
other words, the program won't allow you to import if you have not defined where
you are going to be importing the log to.

 Hi.

Thanks for you help on my earlier problem. Now I would like it again but it
will probably turn out that the problem is with my fingers.

I am trying to convert a log from Logplus to Dx4win but I cannot get beyond
 the second stage.

From the main menu I select 'File|Import/Export.'

Then I click on 'Logplus4' and lines appear above and below my selection.

Then from the File Menu at the top of the active box, i.e. the one that
contains the list of filters I click on 'File.'

At this point I should be able to click 'Import' but that is greyed out. The
only selection on the Files Menu is 'Exit.'

I know it is bound to be finger trouble but please, what am I doing wrong or
 not doing at all?

 Thank you.
