[Dx4win] DX4WIN on Windows 7 working now
Hi All, After everyone told me they didn't run as Admin, right click to get at that, etc, I uninstalled it again. It was about 12 attempts in two days. I downloaded DX4WIN again from the US site as the last time. This time I just ran it like I did with HRD, N1MM. I just double clicked like we install on XP . I had read in the archive about running DX4WIN as Admin. I installed DX4WIN , and received that yellow window again that said User Access Control at the top. This did not happen with N1MM or HRD. I clicked to go ahead. I then installed the MS C+++ and got a blue window asking to go ahead and clicked yes (I had gotten this before too) I then started DX4WIN 8.03 with no more pop ups or boing noises. I don't know what changed other than I didn't do the run as admin. Was that information in the archive superseded when 8.03 or the actual Win 7 was released ? Maybe it was from the RC ? The only difference is the DX4WIN icon does still show a blue shield on it whereas the Firefox etc don't . It seems normal now. The reason I did this was to try this out and see if it's worth changing. I actually don't care for the see through bars in the applications but I think I read those can be shut off. [Dx4win] Windows 7
I've tried to install DX4WIN 8.03 on a fresh upgrade (ie everything XP was moved to WINDOWS.OLD) of 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium I still get a pop up message every time I start DX4WIN: DO YOU WANT TO ALLOW THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM FROM AN UNKNOWN PUBLISHER TO MAKE CHANGES TO THIS COMPUTER ? I installed it as C:/dx4win803 as it suggests. I right clicked before installing and set RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR for the LPT driver installer, the MS redistributable installer and DX4WIN. I set the application as RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR once installed. Is this the way it runs (with an annoying pop up every time you start it) or did I miss something ? [Dx4win] WPX window and WAS window
Hello all Does anyone use the WPX window or WAS window ? I haven't seen any posts on this about 8.01. I find that 1.the band box is no longer changing with incoming spots in the WAS window and data is not appearing as to what Ive worked. Also WAS = shows nothing in the title bar. 2. the WPX data is not appearing either though the band box does shift around with spots coming in. Also WPX= shows nothing in the title bar. A new spot comes in and where 6 and 7 automatically looked up where I had it worked and confirmed, it shows all the boxes for band and mode with nothing in them. I reinstalled 7.07.02 and it works properly. While this is going on, DXCC , WAZ and Field windows are working fine. The WPX colors in the spot window are fine in 8.01.
