[Dx4win] Antenna Bearing Issue
Hello, Today while doing a little Hunt and Peck in the ARRL 10 meter contest I notice an issue with the bearing heading in the latest upgrade. I heard a station in Prince Georges County in MD. I live in Eastern PA in Berks County. The DX4Win program is telling me to turn the beam towards the 262' bearing. I am using the latest Flying horse CB on CD. But according to the QRZ web site the bearing should be 210'. This is a 52' difference. I doubled check my Preferences on the Grid Locator and Longitude and Latitude and all is correct. Just wondering if there is something I am missing or is there a small issue with the bearing in the program. So far I like the new version and I do understand there will be a few bugs to work out. 73 Ron Polityka WB3AAL __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] I have upgraded to 9.02 with XP Pro Op System
Hello, I use my DX4WIN 9.02 on a XP Pro machine that is not connected to the Internet. The machine I do use on the Internet I have the 9.02 installed. I did an upgrade to 9.02 and copied the file folder onto a thumb drive and paste it onto my XP Pro machine. Everything works so far with no issues. I did find one thing that would be nice to have and not sure anyone has mention it on the list. - I have the program started. - I press F3 for my thumb drive for Flying Horse call book. Comes up no problem. - I press F9 to place a new call into the Call Sign Box. - The Call Sign / Mgr Lookup does not update until I do another F3. [Dx4win] Ver. 8.05 - F3 key issue
Hello, I finally updated my DX4Win from 8.04 to 8.05 version. I noticed one minor problem with the F3 key function. In the 8.04 you would press the F3 key and the station information would come up. When you would log that QSO and type in another station callsign the information for the new call sign would come up automatically. Unfortunately with the 8.05 version one has to keep pressing the F3 key for each new callsign that you enter. [Dx4win] CW Keyboard
Hello, I have been using the DX4Win program since it first came out on the market. Great logging program. One of the earlier updates, Version 6.xxx, I noticed a problem with the new update on the CW Keyboard. I use to be able to change the CW Speed with the plus or negative key on the keyboard and it would change while the program was still sending the CW. Today while loading my macros into the Version 8.02 I found I had the same problem. But I found that my problem was not a real problem anyway. While in the CW Keyboard you can change the speed with the plus or negative key on the keyboard while the program is not running the CW. . . . But if you want real-time speed change you can do it with the Alt + F9 or Alt + F10 keys while the program is running. So my problem was really not a problem except for not exploring the program to it full capacity. [Dx4win] PSK31 and K2
Hello, Thanks for the replies on the PSK31. I had the RIGblaster Plus running my K2 before I moved 4 years ago. I finally found the unit tucked away in a box that I thought had only manuals in it. Anyway, I got the RIGblaster Plus up and running with my K2 on PTT. I am using the DX4WIN 7.02.15 program and I had to figure out the different codes for the buffers. First QSO was with HP1 in Panama running the K2 @ 5 watts into a ground mounted Butternut HF9V with 120 radials on the ground. Once again, thanks for the help. 72 and Thanks, Ron Polityka WB3AAL www.wb3aal.com www.n3epa.org
[Dx4win] CW Keyboard with 7.02.15
Hello, Been using the 7.01 version for a while. Updated to the latest version recently. I found a small problem with the keyboard for CW. I did some be-bugging and I can't come up with a fix. I have the program installed in an old machine and a new 3 GHz processor with 760 MB of RAM. I have the problem on both machines, just at different speeds. #1 Can't change CW speed until the string is finished sending. #2 When I have an error in the message I am typing, I can correct it but it take three time as long in the new program than the old version. Thanks, Ron Polityka WB3AAL
