Re: [Dx4win] A dig import

2020-08-24 Thread Steve Lund
I'm a bit confused.

Why not just use the normal DX4WIN file import? One can choose to ignore
duplicate QSOs. I have several thousand 'duplicate' QSOs and the import is
essentially instantaneous.

[Dx4win] FT4 import problems

2019-08-16 Thread Steve Lund
I just did the WWROF digital test using WriteLog (12.42) with DigiWrite
(1.1.18). and had import issues into DX4WIN.

All of the DigiWrite QSO produced import errors for Submode FT4. Earlier I
had imported FT4 QSOs from WSJT-X and had no isssues.

WriteLog ADIF:
WriteLog
12.42G

20190815 19 14.08000 20m
1 FT4 MFSK
KE1VT

WSJT-X ADIF:
5B4AMX KM65 MFSK FT4

The difference is that WriteLog puts the Submode BEFORE the Mode. This
causes DX4WIN import to fail. Is this a fault of DX4WIN or WriteLog?

2018-08-06 Thread Steve Lund
I just checked the wpxdelt.txt file and the AC9 and AC0 prefixes are in
that file. You need to search the file as the prefixes are NOT in
alphabetical order.

AC9 and AC0 are currently valid USA prefixes, so why are they in the not
current file?

[Dx4win] Not getting WPX credit for AC9 and AC0

2018-08-05 Thread Steve Lund
I can't get DX4WIN to give me credit for AC9(X) and AC0(W). AC1 through AC8
produce the proper credits.

I suspect an issue with the country file, but DX4Win 9.0.4.1176 does not
allow one to edit the country file.

Any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix it?

Re: [Dx4win] WAZ module broken?

I figured out the solution last night. I noticed that all the 'bad' Qs were
on FT8. I hadn't checked the boxes for FT8 (& JT65) for WAZ, as I had done
for DXCC.

Will submit 20m CW and 5BWAZ tomorrow.

[Dx4win] WAZ module broken?

2018-04-02 Thread Steve Lund
Now that WAZ is available via LotW, I'm trying to get my DX4Win records to
agree with LotW.

Something seems to be broken.

For 80m Zone1, LotW shows WL7CG. When I select that QSO in the log, and set
the WAZ Band to 'S', KL7RA still shows up as the 80m Zone1 QSO, but it is
an 'M'.

I have other instances where the Report Generator records shows a 'C', but
another QSO has an 'S' in the logging window but it seems to be ignored.

I've also seen 'L' seem to take priority over 'S'. So far all of the failed
'S' entries have been LotW confirmations in 2018.

Any ideas?

Re: [Dx4win] Mode RTTYM

2017-11-14 Thread Steve Lund
When I click on the Mode box, RTTY is the 4 selection. The first 5
selections are not in alphabetical order.

Using AFSK A on my K3 in Real-time selects RTTY.

It appears that one can not change a real-time mode selection. WHY?

When I operate the WSJT-X modes in real-time, they all show RTTY. It would
be nice to be able to override this.

Re: [Dx4win] PzRotatorAx not working in 9.02

2017-11-10 Thread Steve Lund
My bands 20 and above show status of Normal, but rotator doesn't work.

For WriteLog PzRotatorAz brings up a daughter DDE window.

When I select DX4WIN in PzRotatorAz no daughter DDE window is created. I
don't know if one should be.

So, my original query remains - has anyone gotten the Rotator function to
work with 9.02 and DX4WIN? It may be that PzRotatorAz requires some
updating.

[Dx4win] PzRotatorAx not working in 9.02

2017-11-10 Thread Steve Lund
Has anyone gotten PzRotatorAz (13.17) to work with DX4WIN 9.02?

In checking the preferences:

8.05

Handshake: ThunderRT6FormDC|DX4PST

9.02
Message Based
Handshake: ThunderForm|ARSWIN

Changing this to DX4PST does not change the results.

PzRotatorAz is working correctly in tracking mode with WriteLog 12.09F.

Re: [Dx4win] Virtual Comports

2017-10-19 Thread Steve Lund
I'm using LP-Bridge v1.0.9 (www.telepost.inc) with my K3. The trick is that
you have to use DXLabs Commander to connect to LP-Bridge and then have
WSJT-X connect to Commander. For whatever reason WSJT-X does not like
virtual comports.

Then in WSJT-X Rig Settings, select DX Labs Suite Commander rather than the
K3.

This has worked fine for me since I moved to the digital modes on 6m in
June. Will download DX4Win v9 in a few days and see how it works with this.
I'm running 8.05 now.

Re: [Dx4win] Format for FT8 mode Input in ADIF file for TQSL?

2017-08-14 Thread Steve Lund
One way to solve the Mode length problem is to use a 3 character mode like
TOR. Then when you edit the ADIF file you can do a mass replace of TOR with
FT8. I did a similar action for MSK144.

I hope the Ver 9 DX4WIN has some sort of editable file for modes, much like
that used by TQSL.

[Dx4win] AC0, AC9 and AJ7 prefixes for WPX

2015-07-06 Thread Steve Lund
I was recently trying to determine why my DX4WIN prefix count does not
agree with my WPX totals.

I have found that AC0W, AJ9X, and AJ7T are not accepted as valid prefixes
by DX4WIN.

Why is this? They are validly issued FCC calls and I received credit for
them from CQ.

I tried to use the File-Databases-Countries and add the prefixes under
the USA, but that didn't work.

How does one update the database to get credited for these prefixes?
