Tom, Sometimes Windows gets confused about what modifier keys are down and thinks you're pressing Alt-Shift-S, not Alt-S. You can fix that by pressing then releasing the Ctrl, Shift, Alt, and Start keys. Be sure to do this with the Alt and Ctrl on the right side of your keyboard as well. Once you do that, try Alt-S again. I see this exact problem sometimes when I switch OS. Cure is as you describe. It's because those keys are state toggles and can get out of sync. I'm running 7.04 and I've noticed a similar delay. I have a feeling that it may be associated with the keyboard keystroke decoding routine because I notice a similar delay when initiating a CW transmission using the keyboard. Hello David, If you control a radio you will have no delay. Milan, I tested 7.05.03 and 7.05.04 on my laptop with vista home and no problem occurs After mant times ALT-S On all my other PC wit XP pro and home also no problem (some with raid1 setup) On my running PC with Vista Ultimate (raid5 with 4 disks)I still have the problem after I do a second time ALT-S but with a few enters in disappears On all my PC I use AVG antivirus software so probably this is not causing the problem The only difference I have found is that I use memeo backup software on the running PC This program keeps backing up all the time. I will try to disable this without causing Problems for myself and see if the problem is still there. Are you running a similar back up program ? or another antivirus ? Hello Milan and the fellows... I found a problem with ALT + S in 7.05.04 Now this works not, in 7.03 and older version it was OK. I have problem when move my .dxl file to other PC. ALT + S do no change in .dxl file and last changes (QSL dates, LoTW cnf etc.) is lost. Did you copy your .key file to the new installation? Upon entering a new contact, I noticed that File - Save or Alt-S is grey and won't work. The only way I can save anything is to go out of DX4WIN and then it ask me Do you want to save your changes. What could I have done to make it change from the way it always worked before? For example I use AFSK for RTTY and it is a bit of a pain setting the levels each time as invariably they are not the same as settings for other activities on the computer. Was thinking there must be a utility program that will allow these to be stored and retrieved for different activities.
