[Dx4win] DX4WIN Cty File

2004-05-17 Thread Dave Sharred
I too am having problems migrating:

1) I changed the country database to the use the .OLD one.in importing
the log, the first thing I noticed is my IOTA Summary has lost the Checked
records (total IOTA's OK though)

2) in importing, I have a lot of errors (due to previous import problems
with CT contest logs). Looking just for the country errors, I only found 2
that needed fixing, but there is a big=g discrepancy in lost courtiers ( I
have 328 mixed total, and it now shows 320)

Any help appreciated

Is there any reason that I should go through the labor of figuring out the

Yes Mark, two reasons:

1. Satisfy your curiosity
2. Help improve the database

Please see my procedure on http://www.ad1c.com/dx4win/ which is where I keep
the updated database.

You will need to download the .ZIP file and extract DX4WIN.OLD into your
DX4W603 save directory as DX4WIN.CTY in order to do the comparisson.
Export your log from 6.02, import from 6.03, and note the errors.

I can help you off-line if you get stuck. I am only interested in
differences
which can be confirmed by a QSL card.

Hi Mark,
that's normal
because thanks to Jim, AD1C, this version sports the new country database.
wich is different then the one used in 6.02

Best way to handle is to merge the log see the help file or read the upgrade
file
or you can export your log in 6.02 and import again in 6.03 and then look
foe error in notes for this QSO

Best thing to do is merge your old country file with the new one provided
with 6.03. That should restore the exceptions you had in the 6.02 country
file while still retaining the good work AD1C has done correcting and
improving the new country file.
