Hi
I had the same "fail to start" symptoms and discovered why (it may not be the 
same reason as others 
encountered though). 

I am logging on two separate PC:s (two QTHs) and therefore sometimes copy the 
most recent log 
manually from PC1 to PC2. 

Last night, on PC1, I had manually made a country exception for one logged 
station. I then moved the 
updated log over to PC2. On PC2, DX4WIN failed to start with the externally 
updated log. If I however 
manually make the same country exception on PC2, it starts OK.

Very good Kostas and thank you for the help.   I always start DX4WIN well
after the PC starts up so I haven't experienced any issues with Dropbox.

On an application that does start at PC startup, it routinely doesn't show
the data out in Dropbox until the Dropbox connection is made but then all
the data appears and the app goes along its way.  Its a PIM (Personal
Information Manager) type of software.

Anyway, I am glad all is working again.   Thanks again.

Happy you find a solution. It's better not to use the dropbox to save 
the file. It seems that dx4win has problems with this, especially when 
dx4win starts close the computer's start. I use also dropbox but as 
secondary backup directory. This way I backup my log but I have also 
less problems with dx4win.

Mine does that weekly...any time my internet connection didn't start /work
(which out in the country where I live, happens quite often!). I just chose
the "continue application" option. the application works fine (minus
features that need internet connectivity). Then I work on getting the
internet working... and when I get that working again, all is fine.

You should send the bug report to Paul. This has already happened if you 
pressed "send report " button.


Did you try if dx4win works now? If yes there is no need to re-install.

I have found 2 answers (until now) in the question "why happened?"

1. You save your file or backup in dropbox or in the cloud. Sometimes 
the access in the cloud is too slow and dx4win gives a bug report.


2. Sometimes one more click or whatever (I don't know) dx4win tries to 
open 2 instances. Dx4win stops this but it gives a bug report.
