Re: [Dx4win] I don't see DX4WIN reading the freq of my 7300

Be sure you have the program in "Add Real-time" mode (F9). The frequency
won't update otherwise. This one bites me all the time.

My setup

- Windows 10 64 bit, build 17763
- VSPE 64 bit v0.938.4.846, with license for 64 bit
- Band Master 1.6, perfect synch with the 7300
- WSJT-X 2.1.0, perfect synch with the 7300
- FL Digi 4.1.01, perfect synch with the 7300
- DXLab DX Commander 13.9.0, perfect synch with the 7300

DX4WIN 9.0.3.1160, not synching properly

Capture1 shows the settings of the RADIO control in DX4WIN, which are the
same as the other programs that are connecting to the 7300:
115,200/N/8/2/DTS=0/RTS=0

Capture2 shows the DX4WIN readout of the 7300 frequency. Note that the
secondary freq on 40 meters is correct (not in use when snip was taken).
The primary freq is haywire.

Capture3 shows the DX4WIN readout of the 7300 frequency 5 second after
Capture2. Note that the secondary freq on 40 meters is correct (not in use
when snip was taken). The primary freq is haywire.

The primary freq readout jumps back and forth between Capture2 and
Capture3.

Hi Tim

I had the same problem but i just use the IC-7600 and change the hex-adress

mine does show both the band and frequency. That is, if I'm adding a QSO
usinig "Add Real-Time". If i add "off-line", then it does NOT show
frequency automatically, I have to add it manually. But if I add a QSO
using "add Real-Time".even if i'm just in the "add Real-Time"
modethe computer/DX4WIN tracks both the frequency and the band (and the
mode too). I'd make sure I had my radio settings correct in preferences.
Pick the right rigand have the right baud rate, comm port, poll rate,
DTR, DTSetc. have them set right on BOTH ends...radio menu AND DX4WIN
settings.

My recollection is that in real-time Add mode (F9), the Frequency
field will update as you spin the dial. But the bandmap is an easier
way to tell.

I'm about 25 miles away from the shack, so I can't test whether my
memory is right or not.

I don't think that dx4win shows the current frequency. When you log a
qso, is the frequency logged. This is what dx4win does. Also you can
check that dx4win reads the frequency in bandmap (right click over the
dx spots and bandmap)
