[Dx4win] Local spotting?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a telenet site(s) that has only spots that would be semi-local to my qth (Pennsylvania)? While seeing spots of DX from people halfway across the world is nice, it isn't practical for me personally. Or is there a way that I can filter out those kinds of spots? Sorry, this may be off topic for some. Thanks for any input. Rick

The info is available with the cluster help command... However, here are the commands I use... To pass K,VE spots only: set/filter k,ve/pass To pass HF spots only: set/filter dxbm/reject vhf, uhf,mw To turn it off: Set/nofilter Set them up as a function key macro... Sorry, this may be off topic for some. DX4WIN has some filters in Preferences|Packet 1. I find it useful to filter for only Zone 3-5 spotters. Except in DX contests, the rate of arrival of spots is low enough so that the profusion of grey spots doesn't bother me, and sometimes it is nice to know what bands a DXpedition is on, even if there isn't prop to my part of the world. If it does, you can always set up to ignore grey spots. Depending on the software used by your cluster node, there may be a myriad of filtering options available there. This is particularly true of AR-Cluster. Either way, you'll need to read the friendly manual, but you should be able to get what you want. 73, Pete N4ZR 2671 calls now in the World HF Contest Station Database at www.pvrc.org/wcsd/wcsdsearch.htm
