Re: [Dx4win] dx4win log to WSJT-X
Mike, Jim , David and others. What a great group and thanks for all the input. Just FYI the ADI file copied to WSJT log seems to have worked so things are back To normal. Around 2K qso restored to wsjt with no problems. 73 To All, Bob, K5BG Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: Jim Rhodes Sent: Sunday, June 30, 2019 4:58 PM To: Mike Cizek W0VTT Cc: Bob Gill; DX4WIN Reflector Subject: Re: [Dx4win] dx4win log to WSJT-X Or, if you are using windiz anyway, you could look in the recycle bin and try to restore the file. Re: [Dx4win] dx4win log to WSJT-X
Normally I'd recommend making a backup of the wsjt-x log but if it's been wiped, there's not going to be anything to back up. I'd give what you're suggesting a try. The worst thing that would happen is if the file format is incompatible, you'd likely get an error when starting wsjt-x. If that happens, just delete the file. And I'll put in the obligatory reminder that backing up your computer is always a good idea. (Shameless plug coming) I've personally used Backblaze for years (https://www.backblaze.com/cloud-backup.html) and it's saved me more than a few times. One of the best parts: You just install it and it does it's thing. You don't need to run anything, it doesn't completely clobber your system when it runs like some others, and restoring is easy. You can get a 30 day free trial. If you decide to sign up, you can use this link https://secure.backblaze.com/r/00lxyo (I think you can use that for the trial as well) and we both get an extra month free. If you've got more questions about backups, please contact me off-list. -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net On Behalf Of Bob Gill Sent: Sunday, June 30, 2019 11:15 AM To: DX4WIN Reflector Subject: [Dx4win] dx4win log to WSJT-X I made a boo boo and deleted my wsjt-x log which contained roughly 2,000 qso.
