Ron,

Open the file orion.rig located in the radios folder of the dx4win
folder with a text editor.

You may need to edit the MODES section to get it to go to the cw mode
you want. On my Orion if I set CW=3,2;3,2;Y then when I click on a cw
spot it goes to UCW. I prefer LCW so I have my line set to CW=2,3;2,3;Y.
Don't ask me what it all means. I just experimented until it worked like
I wanted!

[MODES]
AM=4;4;N
CW=2,3;2,3;Y
FM=5;5;N
PACK=6;6;N
SSB=1,0;1,0;N

 From the Orion software docs:

ASCII ?0? (0x30) for USB mode
ASCII ?1? (0x31) for LSB mode
ASCII ?2? (0x32) for UCW mode
ASCII ?3? (0x33) for LCW mode
ASCII ?4? (0x34) for AM mode
ASCII ?5? (0x33) for FM mode
ASCII ?6? (0x34) for FSK mode

I'm not sure how to set it up for RTTY though.
