Re: [Dx4win] Printing logbook

2025-02-20 Thread OZ0J / 5Q2T - Joe
-> Thanks all, got it. Here's a tangential question. I've had three
callsigns: WN6IBU, WA6IBU, W6IBU. I have a separate logbook for each. Is
there a way to combine into one file but keep track of my callsign for each
QSO? thanks.

Besides the suggestion from Jim, AD1C, you can also give your 3 logs different
group numbers and then merge the DX4WIN logs.

In the final DX4WIN log set group number for future QSOs. Go to file -
preferences - QSO.
In the 3 logs with different calls set group No, choose QSO - Multiply QSOs -
Set group No (and different group No for the 3 calls)

And in the final log choose filter - Edit Group Names and type and save group
No and call.

Note!! Group No 0 (zero) is not working.

I have done so with the log of OX3LX and can manage present 33 different QTHs.
I only must change the group No in preferences before import of new logs.

If the callsigns did not overlap (by date), then you can merge the
.DXL files together:

File -> Import/Export
File -> Merge DX4WIN Log

The best way to do this would be to copy ONE of your log files to a
new name, then merge the other two log files into the new one.

Finally, create a Selection using start/end dates for each callsign.
You can read more about selections here:

Here's what I do: I have various different logbooks configurations set up
depending on what I'm trying to do. You can select which columns you want so
you'll only have what you need. Use the F8 filters to select only those QSOs
that you're interested in. When you right click, you can either print it or you
can "write to file", which saves it to a comma separated file (csv) which can
be imported into Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) You can filter further and do some
additional formatting in Excel if you choose.

I just did what I told you in the previous message, I gave the right mouse
button, then to "print", and you get a dialog window, in "Destination" I
indicated Preview and generated me 1,217 pages that you can preview before
printing.
Before, I would advise you, to check the right button, report editor, and
change or move the fields you really want to print.
All the best.

I think that by right clicking on the log, you have an option to print and
save the file. I'm saying this from memory because I'm not at home right

But I'm sure there's a way.
