Re: [Dx4win] Problem since upgrade to W10/W11

2023-03-09 Thread David Gould

Hi Guy,

Thanks for the explanation and suggestions.  I have re-booted the
computer, started Win4Yaesu and then tried to start DX4Win.   No change
in the response.  I still get the error boxes which I have to close and
then DX4Win starts as normal.

By playing around I have found a solution.  My virtual COM port pair was
20/21. The set-up video said it didn't matter which of the pair was used
for the application.  I had it set for COM20, for a trial I changed it
to COM21 and that has got rid of the problem.

That is one more niggle removed.  Thanks.

Startup Win4Yaesu with the radio connected and make sure the setup is perfect.
Make two pairs of Com-0-Com
The 1st pair should be for DX4WIN at max 38400 Baud even if your radio can go
higher.
Be sure that the rigdriver in dx4win has the same baudrate, if not then change
it.
The 2nd pair should be for WSJT-X also at max 38400 Baud.
If for any reason wsjtx build in rigdrivers are not perfect use omnirig v1.18

Start
WIN4YAESU
Wait until all is ready
Start
DX4WIN
If radio is connected

Start
WSJT-X
Shutdown in reverse order
Can be setup in WIN4YAESU

Second option is if your radio has USB and also a SERIAL port
To setup the radio with via serial port to DX4WIN, but make sure
You use FTDI based USB to serial cable if no serial port is available
Most of the other usb2serial is crap.

Hi Folks,

I was out of the country from 20-Sep through 14-Oct. I returned home
late Friday night.

It looks like the last data file updates were on 17-Sep. I decided to
give my development computer a vacation as well, which is why the
updates did not happen automatically. I'll see if I can push one out
manually sometime today. For future reference, I need to remember to
keep this computer running when I am away, which I have usually done
in the past.

There will be a new country file on Sunday 16-Oct. I was hoping to
release one on Saturday but I had a few distractions.

Re: [Dx4win] problem

2020-11-12 Thread Courtney Judd
hi Wayne I have all the latest firmware/router microHam stuff ok but I
noticed in the router software that the com port 5 (radio freq/mode)
shows (open 4800 8n1) same in both dx4win and microHam but I see
nowhere in dx4win or microham, or radio (FTdx5000) to set it to 8n2
I have to hit F9 when first opening the log ( I think that should be
user selectable) and it goes directly to the rig freq/mode as it should.
In dx4win.. preferences.. radio max tries was set to 2 but I
bumped that up to 10... hope that was the right way to move! so far so
good but Zoran WA7AA also suggested running a brouser video might be
also affecting it. I am running WIN 10 , 2 monitors with Email program
and Chrome also running along side DX4WIN. All this workee fine until 2
days ago. thanks I sure do appreciate all the thoughts! 73's Cort K4WI

Hi Cort,

Which radio are you using? You may want to check the virtual port
drivers from the microham to make sure windows has not done one of
it's updates on them. If it's a Yaesu radio check the stop bits
(should be 2) and RTS setting in the radio as well as the software.

With 6 tries DX4W may not be connecting right from the git go. Once
DX4W is up if you push F9 in DX4W does the computer read the frequency
from the radio right away?

I no longer use a microham but have in the past. I am using the FT991a
and FTdx5000 with DX4Win with no issues. I know microsoft has updated
some prolific drivers and I have had trouble with them and had to
revert to the original driver.

Re: [Dx4win] problem

2020-11-12 Thread WA7AA
I have a similar problem to yours and here are the limited results of my
troubleshooting, for what it's worth:

A few years ago, out of the blue and after years of using the same
station setup, I began having radio time-outs while using DX4Win. I
eventually traced the problem and was able to consistently reproduce it
by playing any video heavy content in my web browser (Firefox). Browsing
normal page content that does not require heavy use of the video card
does not cause time-outs. I can't pinpoint the date when this started
happening, so I have no idea whether it was caused by video card driver
updates, automatic Windows resources change, DX4Win version change or
whatever else.
However, a similar thing occurs while using N1MM+ with a slight but
important difference: in this case, I get error messages on the N1MM+
status bar saying "Radio sent invalid CAT data", but there is no radio
comms loss, i.e. it still reads frequencies and talks to my radio.
I don't know if this applies to your scenario. I simply got used to
living with this and I make sure I don't watch video content while
leaving DX4Win in the Real Time Entry mode. I suspect something
somewhere in the Windows video settings interferes with the COM port
setup, but I can't be bothered to go deep diving in there.
I attempted to change DX4Win radio polling to make it the same as N1MM+
without success.

I hope this helps before you go crazy reinstalling all kinds of software.

Zoran WA7AA

hey Mike, mine was set at 6 to I bumped it up to 10... DTR HIGH not

Writelog ports are set for radio freq and mode and also for CW
sending and RTTY thru MMTTY... this all worked perfectly up until a

Hello Courtney,

You might try increasing the number of tries before dx4win times out:
File> Preferences > Radio: Max Tries=? I just looked and mine is set at 2,
which is probably the default. That seems pretty low. Also, is the
computer talking to dx4win through the Microham router? Could that be part
of the problem? I never had any Microham stuff so don't know how they
work,

but think one of their guys reads this list and may be able to comment.

thanks Larry, yes, that is the way I always start up in the morning

out board items, then open either DX4WIN or Writelog shut down the

Re: [Dx4win] PROBLEM WITH DX4Win and MMTTY (and coincidentally with PSK31)

2020-10-16 Thread kr6c
Good Morning,

The lack of transmit almost sounds like the proper comm port, or settings
are not correct. I have occasionally had problems after Microsoft pushed
their updates and need to go and check/reset settings.

If you can actually hear the RTTY signals, have it centered properly on the
MMTTY screen, and it prints gibberish, make sure you are on the right
sideband. I also don't know if you are using FSK or AFSK, and keyline or
VOX activation.

I have to use EXTFSK 1.06 program as the MMTTY/PSK keying source on my
FT-1000MP and run FSK. I use COM7, FSK output=TXD and PTT=RTS. Once you
have EXTFSK loaded you can select it in MMTTY as the com source. This has
worked well for me.

I too much prefer RTTY/PSK and some other digital modes with FLDIGI as the
lack of human in the loop with FT8 type modes does not give me a thrill. I
also like to hear the RTTY/PSK signal and listening to FT8 reminds me of the
first day of band class, learning how to play the flute!

Hope this helps

Subject: [Dx4win] PROBLEM WITH DX4Win and MMTTY (and coincidentally with
PSK31)

Hi I hope there is some one on here who can advise me? I am running DX4Win
ver 9.0.9.1259.

I recently had a problem with the SOUND setup in my W10 PC and could not
operate digi modes. That seems to now be resolved as I can now operate
WSJT-X (not that I really want to) and RTTY directly to the MMTTY program.
This had been working faultlessly for the past three years plus until it
suddenly stopped at the beginning of Sept.

After some difficulty and assistance we have got it working. However if I
try to operate using the interface from DX4Win the MMTTY windows appear and
there is noise on the screen printing rubbish. I cannot find any FSK
signals, as everyone is on FT8! Nevertheless as I get rubbish on the screen
I assume that it would print out serious copy if there were any. The problem
that I have found is that I cannot TX. If I try to send RYs the two tones
appear on the screen but the rig does not go to TX.

Coincidentally I tried the PSK module inside DX4Win that receives and
decodes PSK but will not go into TX.

I assume there is a common setting that I have not ticked or something? I
have looked at the help files but they don't.

Many 73

Re: [Dx4win] Problem connecting a IC7600

2018-08-10 Thread Mel SM0MPV
Thanks for your suggestion Tibor.

I think something that the problem is the IC-7600 RIG file.

If I use ICOM 756 PRO III rig file and change the address to 7A Hex
everything works except if I press PSK on the radio, then the mode in the
log-window shows SSB. This is maybe how it should be if the PSK is
generated via the sound card in the rig.

I am not a programmer and can thus not compare the two RIG files.

Below I have added all the tests I have done and once again all settings
etc.

73 de Mel/SM0MPV

When I click on a spot in the band map or in the spot window the frequency
changes accordingly in the band map and in the logging window but after 1-2
s the frequency change back to the one seen on the radio. The mode has
changed both in the logging window and on the radio. However, if I change
the frequency or the mode on the rig it changes in DX4WIN. Thus, it is only
the communication of frequency from DX4WIN to the rig that does not work.

Everything works if I use N1MMplus or Ham Radio Delux.

I can connect to a Kenwood TS-590 with DX4WIN.

The problem remains if I connect another computer, this time with Windows
10 and 64-bit system.
N1MMplus works with IC-7600 and DX4WIN connection to the TS-590 works from
this computer.

I have changed cables and ports without success.

The remote jack (CI-V jack) has been both connected and unconnected to my
amplifier (SPE Expert 1K-FA) and it did not affect the result.

I have restarted the computer and the rig several times, but not in any
systematical way.

Re: [Dx4win] Problem connecting a IC7600

2018-08-06 Thread Mel SM0MPV
Thanks David,

I have just tested your RIG file too and I got the same result as earlier.
What I see is that when I click on a spot o the band map the program
changes frequency bet then very soon goes back to the first one. The
callsign for the spoted station remains in the QSO window. When I turn the
dial on the radio the frequency changes in the band map and in the QSO
window in DX4WIN.

I use the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART bridge

I have the com port set to:
Bits per second: 9600
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Row control: None
It is Windos 7 Professional I use

The radio settings in DX4WIN are
ICOM 7600 _K2DBK, i.e. ON4AOI except the filter.
Address: 7A
Baud Rate: 9600
COM port: COM6
Poll rate (ms): 1000
Max tries: 6
DTR high and RTS high marked

I connect the the computer and the rig via an USB A and B cable

The settings in the radio are:
CI-V baud rate: 9600
CI-V Address: 7Ah
CI-V Tranceive: OFF
CI-V OutPut (for ANT): OFF
USB Serial Function: CI-V

I will later connect my SPE Expert 1K-FA amplifier to the rig. Since it can
just communicate with 9600 baud so I believe I am stucked with this baud
rate. The communication goes between the remote (CI-V) jack on the rig and
the RS 232 connection on the amplifier.

I guess I have a couple of thoughts: Did you install the Icom USB driver?
You're supposed to do that before ever plugging in the radio, although I'm
not sure how important that is. I am guessing that you did since you said it
works with N1MM. I have my baud rate set to 19200 and the CI-V address set
to 7A. Here are the other settings since maybe this will help:

CI-V Transceive: Off
CI-V Output (for ANT): Off
USB Serial Function: CI-V

In DX4WIN, I have the poll rate set to 1000ms and Max tries set to 6.

I've attached a copy of the RIG file that I use. It's basically the same as
the standard 7600_500 except that I think I changed the filter to default to
off.

Subject: [Dx4win] Problem connecting a IC7600

I have just bought an IC 7600 and have been struggling to get the
communication between the computer and the rig to work.

I us a Dell with XP professional 64 bits, DX4WIN 9.04 and have connected the
rig with an USB-cable. I have an SPE Expert 1K-FA amplifier connected via
ALC, Send and C-IV.

All baud rates are set the same 9600 in DX4WIN, the com port, the rig and
amplifier.

I have tried to use both ICOM 7600_250Hz and the ICOM 7600_500Hz

The program and rig do not match, when clicking on a spot or a spot from the
band map. It seems like it is the frequencies that do not match, mode
changes, but I have not tested this so much.

When using N1MM everything works.

Any suggestions what to do?

Try deleting old packet spots (SAVE\DX4WIN.PUT). If that doesn't fix
it, try deleting your config file (SAVE\DX4WIN.CFG).

Well...

I found the answer...  During the CQ WPX this past weekend, I moved all
the MMTTY windows to the second screen to give me more room on the main
screen...  I normally leave the second screen turned off...  Yup as soon
as I turned the screen on, there was the MMTTY screen...  All I had to
do was to drag the MMTTY screen back to the main monitor...  Problem
solved...

Glad to find out it wasn't anything to do with DX4Win, just a forgetful

Re: [Dx4win] Problem with exporting LoTW

2017-10-12 Thread Ian Fugler
Hi, Sam

I upload to LOTW regularly as follows:

F8 (Search)

Date - enter the first date of the required export
- enter the last date of the required export. Note this assumes
that you have the date set to Range.

File>Import/Export>ADIF

Say yes to the question as to whether to use the active filter for the
export.

Save the exported ADIF file somewhere

Then use TQSL to upload that ADIF file.

It takes seconds and works fine

Hello everyone..

I have been having a problem with exporting to LoTW, and I am at my wit's
end trying to figure it out. After the recent CQWW rtty test I imported my
log from n1mm+ and I was successful with over 1500 contacts being imported.
I selected the "set LoTW flag" when I did this, and indeed the LoTW flag was
set to "Y" for all these contacts. When I then tried to export from DX4WIN
(8.5) for submission to the LoTW web site I got a message that only about
150 contacts were being exported. I then aborted the export and clicked N
to "do you want to clear the upload flag".

All my contacts (1500+) still have the LoTW flag set to "Y" but now when I
try to export I get the message that "Exports finished, no QSOs were
written".

I then tried to set the "Filter" function by creating a new group with the
Date Filter box checked and of course the first and last dates entered.
This did not work either. I know the answer is simple but for the life of
me I have not been able to find it.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello Sam,

Do any of those QSOs show a LoTW upload date? Did you maybe have a filter
in place (looking for something in the log) when you did the export? Try
doing a filter by date for the contest weekend and select LoTW > Clear LoTW
Upload Date (whether or not an upload date is showing) and try the export
again. I agree it doesn't make sense. If all else fails, you can always
sign and upload the ADIF file from N1MM with TQSL.

Re: [Dx4win] Problem Getting DX4Win to work on a new computer

2017-05-31 Thread David Kozinn, K2DBK

Hi Carol,

I'd argue that yes, you should upgrade, but there is a simple solution:

I found this in the archive from Paul from January 2005:

Paul,

The example given was for winNT/XP. For Windows/98 there is a different
driver and destination directory. From the on-line help:

for Win/95/98:
Windows\System\Vichw11.vxd

for Win/NT/2000/XP:
WinNT\System32\Divers\Vichw11.sys

I made some modifications in 6.04 to see if we can eliminate the problem.

The searchable mail archives are at

resource.

Try creating a new log file and see if the other windows open. It sounds
like maybe there's a problem with your log file.

Alternatively, if you have more than one log, try opening another log file.

Re: [Dx4win] Problem with LOTW and DX4WIN listing comparison?

2012-05-03 Thread Loren Hunt
Jim,The problem with doing this is it wants to submit even for countries that
have already been checked if they were submitted and checked as LoTW QSLs
previously. I just had both a paper and LoTW awards completed last month so my
new confirmed is under 25 or so. Everything else is marked as Checked. I
un-clicked the LoTW box and did a Submission report. It came up with 66 new
ones to submit. Doing it the other way around (LoTW selected and paper not)
doesn't fare any better with 266 new ones...
What I thought was odd (even buggy) was that even if a band/mode was marked as
checked in the DXCC award field DX4WIN still put it on the list if it had
been checked as LoTW.
So I think this isn't what he was looking for. I think if you want to submit
one or the other it is a manual operation. When I couldn't find a way to do
it separate I just did them both at the same time.
By the way - I submitted the new style online form for my paper QSLs on the
first day it was available. I had updated numbers on the LoTW page in less than
2 weeks and my certificate in less than 3 weeks. So I like the new system. Good
going DXCC awards team!
73Loren, AD6ZJ

No program.  But if you go into the Awards manager (File | Awards),
and on the DXCC tab, in the upper-left box, uncheck LoTW (so only QSL
is checked), and perform the DXCC submission, then DX4WIN will only
try to submit paper QSLs, even if you also have a LoTW confirmation.
That may or may not be what you want.

Not if you're running 8.05 - this was fixed in that version. Once

But until then with help of Jim's utility you can check only LotW confirmations

  Kostas,
I started to give the same reply, but that program does not do what George is
asking for.

What George wants is to make a DXCC submission that includes card-in-hand
QSLs only. He would like a report from DX4WIN that includes just those cards,
not including confirmations that might be covered by LoTW confirmations.

Are there any errors generated by DX4WIN when you try to import the adif file?

What you might be able to do is to open the adif file using a text
editor and look for a QSO that's not getting successfully imported.
Perhaps there's some field in the AClog file that DX4WIN doesn't
recognize. Once you identify the problem you can fix the log so it'll
import.

You could also see if there's some other format that AClog can use for
export that DX4WIN understands.

Sorry, Bill. The instructions are unclear. I'll fix the web just

There is a Format selection box in the program (DX4WIN6 or DX4WIN8).
The default is DX4WIN8, so you have to import using that format. If
you change it to DX4WIN6 (because you're using an older version of

2010-01-19 Thread Isidro Acosta Hernández
Hello Andy and the fellows in the reflector...

 I use DX4WIN v 7.07.
Also has found out that it not correctly defines the country for the
 Russian stations with fraction.

 For example:

UA0BA/3 - DX4WIN defines AsRus actually should be EuRus

 As should be if:

 UA0BA/1 - Eu Rus
 UA0BA/2 - Kaliningrad (UA2)
 UA0BA/3 - Eu Rus
 UA0BA/6 - Eu Rus

 UA0BA/8 - As Rus
 UA0BA/9 - As Rus
 UA0BA/0 - As Rus

 or:

 UA3AA/1 - Eu Rus
 UA3AA/2 - Kaliningrad (UA2)
 UA3AA/3 - Eu Rus
 UA3AA/4 - Eu Rus
 UA3AA/6 - Eu Rus

 UA3AA/8 - As Rus
 UA3AA/9 - As Rus
 UA3AA/0 - As Rus

I think UA0BA/3 should sign UA0BA/UA3, and UA3AA/9 should sign UA3AA/UA9.

A similarly, some times a EA station in the Canary Islanda sigs EA4xxx/8,
but he/she should sign EA4xxx/EA8, or vice-versa.

Re: [Dx4win] Problem with the F2 key

2010-01-07 Thread Tonno Vahk
Nope, there is still a problem in 8.03 with F2 key it seems to me.

When QSL Date is set then F2 Key DOES NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE THAN SET
CONFIRMED FLAG Y.

The box that previously appeared: Do you want to mark the QSL Label again
or something does not appear. Label is not marked Y and Method is not
Changed as it should be.

I have Mark for Printing Label checked, yes.

I noticed that when I press the F2 key to log a QSL, DX4Win creates a new
outgoing label for the QSO I just confirmed and for which I had originally
sent a QSL (the QSL Date field has a date in it, indicating I've already
printed a label). I've gone through the preferences, and in the F2 Key
 tab,
only the box labeled Mark QSO as confirmed is checked, not the one
 labeled
Mark for printing a Label. And on the QSO tab, the QSL card in the
Label/Upl flag box isn't checked (I thought I'd like the auto label
 feature,
but for me it got annoying). I've tested this with a number of QSOs for
which I've already received QSLs (and had sent one previously), yet DX4Win
keeps generating labels for those same QSOs.

I'm using version 8.02. In my prior life with version 7, if I received a
QSL but hadn't yet sent one, pressing F2 would confirm the QSL and
 generate
a label. If I'd already sent a QSL, it would just do the confirmation,
 not
 produce another label.

 What am I missing?

Well, previously it was asking if I want to do it again and that is surely
the best way.

In my case it usually happens when bureau card has been sent and I receive
Direct request. Of course I would like to mark it again for QSL then and set
QSL mode to Direct.

Re: [Dx4win] Problem with incorrect QSL manager info

2009-09-20 Thread Mel
Thanks all for the explanation.

I must say I prefer the way my old logger handled this. Changing a QSL
manager in the log automatically updated the QSL manager info by
creating a new entry and start date.

Perhaps Paul might consider changing this at some point. It would be a
lot more convenient.

Alan Zack wrote:

I had the same problem with H44MY so I changed the QSL MGR database. It
was showing JA0IXW who used the call H44MY in 2004 and before.

I hope I am doing this myself correctly. What I do is open the QSL Mgr
database. Line 1 is always blank. There I enter H44MY and left click on
the DATE column (TAB won't work). That causes H44MY to jump to a new
line in alphabetical order just after H44MX (in my database anyway).
Then in the next column I enter the effective date. In the case of H44MY
I don't know the exact date, QRZ.COM just says from Nov 2008 onward use
OM2SA, so I entered 11/01/2008. Then in the next column I entered OM2SA.
Then I click on SAVE CHANGES AND EXIT. Now, any QSO with H44MY after
11/01/2008 will show OM2SA as the QSL MGR.

Hope this works for you and hope that is the correct way of doing it. I
am open to any suggestions or comments.

Subject: [Dx4win] Problem with incorrect QSL manager info

 Hi folks,

I've run into a problem which I have no idea how to solve. Here's the
 situation:

I worked H44MY for a new entity on 30M. Entered all the info I had
and found out that the QSL manager callsign I put in the log was
wrong. Tried to fix it, but although the program will allow me to
enter another callsign in the QSL Manager box, when I save it nothing
happens to change the QSL manager callsign. I've tried it on two
machines, same problem. Same thing with deleting the QSO and then
entering off-line -- no joy. Shut off the computer, restarted, still
 no joy.

Ideas are MORE than welcome. I put the correct callsign (OM2SA) in
the notes area, and that's fine, but it really ought to go into the
QSL manager block, I would think. It would also make it a little
easier when I print labels for the cards.

Thanks, in advance, for your help and very 73,

That *is* how DX4WIN works, and is how DX4WIN has worked for all versions.

As I explained, the one problem you can into is if you typo the QSL
manager somehow, then enter a new manager FOR THE SAME DATE, where the
manager's call is alphabetically LATER than the busted call. In this one
case, you need to edit the QSL manager database by hand.

The simple answer is that if there are two managers for the same call
and date, the first one alphabetically is the one that DX4WIN shows.

You can go to File | Databases | QSL Managers to remove the bad one.
Read the help file for hints on how to delete an entry from the
database.

was showing JA0IXW who used the call H44MY in 2004 and before.

 Karl, K1KO

It sounds like you are using an old shortcut that still points to the
old 8.01.  Go directly to the new dx4w802 directory and click on the
executable there to see if you still get an indication of 8.01

Hi George,

If you didn't change the defaults when you installed the upgrade,
there should be a DX4WIN 8.02 folder in your Start | All Programs
menu. Click on that folder, then click on the dx4win icon inside
it.

Each DX4WIN #.## folder has the same dx4win icon. In your Start
menu, showing most recently used programs, it's easy to temporarily
have two dx4win icons, one pointing to an old version and one
pointing to a new version. If you hover the mouse over the icon
without selecting it, you'll see the Location for that icon, which
will help you determine whether you're selecting the correct one.

On my systems, when I see the dx4win icon, I right-click on it and
rename it to (for example), DX4WIN 8.02.

Hi, folks...

Ran into a strange problem this evening. I noticed that the spots coming
in to the packet window on DX4WIN were not all showing up in the DX spots

cluster for DX spots (sh/dx/20) the DX spots window would reflect all the
spots shown in the packet/internet window. However, as further spots came
in later, as reflected in the packet/internet window, they were NOT shown
in the DX spots window. Tried it several different ways (DX spot window
by time of arrival, precedence, etc.) and it made no difference.

Anybody care to enlighten me on this? It's the first time I ever noticed
this, but I can't be certain that it's never happened before.
Incidentally, I have the level set for Expert, so I know that shouldn't
be the problem.

Karl,

Configure packet not to ignore the 'Gray' spots.

Increase the spotting window capacity to a few hundred

Clear the Prefixes/Zones for spotters

Get a bunch of spots; they should be visible.

Change the field Prefixes/Zones to something like: #3,#4,#5

Note that this filters on the spotters, not the station being spotted
and see what happens. When you sort the spots by priority, the
changes become apparent and should be easy to verify.

Re: [Dx4win] Problem with Spots showing in DX window

2008-08-09 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C

What is the time spot of the latest spots shown in the DX Spots window?

For clusters that don't include the date in the SH/DX output, you can
get old spots that appear newer. For example, at 0010z, you do a
sh/dx/100. You get spots from 2345z to 0010z. If the spots don't have
the date in them, then the spots from 2345z are considered today even
though they are from yesterday.

But this is just a guess as to your problem.

What cluster node are you connected to and what software is it running
(i.e. CC, AR, Spider, etc.)? Have you tried changing nodes?

Does clearing all the spots from the window make things work again?

Re: [Dx4win] Problem with DXCC Submission report

2008-08-03 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
It's a shortcoming in DX4WIN. For a QSO to be considered Checked, the Award
flag must be set to Checked, but *ALSO* the QSO must be marked Confirmed. When
you set your Preference to Upl Conf, then all the QSOs that were marked
Checked, but confirmed by paper QSL, are no longer considered checked, since
they are no longer confirmed (unless both confirmed by QSL *and* LoTW).

Does that make sense? I have asked Paul to change this, but no feedback as of
yet.

Subject: [Dx4win] Problem with DXCC Submission report

I'm trying to generate a Submission report based on LoTW confirmations
only. In the past I believe I have been able to set my PreferencesQSO
and set the Confirmed QSO's parameter to Upload Conf. And after saving
the Preferences I could generate a DXCC Submission report which would
list only those QSO's that could be submitted and confirmed via LoTW.
Doing that under 7.04.04 now generates a listing that is several times
in excess of those that are newly eligible for LoTW confirmation. In
many cases DX4WIN is picking QSO's for entities that have already been
Checked. And BTW, the listing if I set Card in Hand is also incorrect.
But setting to Card or Upload seems to be correct.

Is this a problem with 7.04.04 or is my memory faulty on what I think I
was able to do prior to 7.04?

  As a guess, I'd say your DX4WIN.IEP (Import/ExPort) file got corrupted. I
don't know if the format of it is compatible with 7.02 or not.

If you have no other suggestions:
  1) Exit DX4WIN
  2) Make a copy of your DX4WIN.IEP file (located in the SAVE directory) to
another name.
  3) Copy the DX4WIN.IEP file from your DX4WIN 7.02 /SAVE directory to your
DX4WIN 7.04 /SAVE directory
  4) Try 7.04 DX4WIN again.
  5) If this doesn't fix it or makes things worse
 a) Exit DX4WIN
 b) Copy the file created in step #2 above back to the 7.04 SAVE directory.

Please let me or us know whether this works or not.

Although there are 13 QSLs in the report (including several J5C), Dx4WIN

Any suggestions? Do I now need to change the QSOs manually?
