A Java Applet may only access URLs on the same MACHINE that it was
loaded from. This has been true since Java 1.0 to my knowlege. Java
Applications have the freedom to access any machine.

I've been working on trying to get my applet based loadpanel to work in
NS6. The applet works fine. The problem that now exists is that Java
won't even let me access URLs on the same domain.
I can only guess that the latest version of Java is a bit more strict
than previous versions.
Does anyone know of any good sites regarding Java 1.3 and security?
