This is indeed very well know, and in the faq.
It's not DynAPI related, but a browser-bug. We did try to remedy this
problem with various resize scripts for NS4, but they only help on simple
pages, without dynImages.
In the faq there are a few examples of reloading the page on resize, for
NS4.

After the pretty radical new version changes, I haven't been able to put in
the time to learn the new code yet, as work became extremely demanding.

Well I don¹t know about anyone else on this list but I test out every
release on the Mac OS 9 and X. As far as 2.5.7 Ive found it to be pretty
stable and usable on most Mac browsers such as:
IE 5 (OS 9)
IE 5.5 (OS X)
NS 4.7 (OS 9)
NS 6.2 (OS 9)
Mozilla 0.9.8

I have an animated image, animation.gif.
When I add it to a dynlayer, it doesn't animate.
I just use the setHTML("")
Any sugestions?
