PayPal uses fiat currency regulated by the government here in the US.
PayPal offers banking services that fall under the same laws.
PayPal interacts with other banks directly through credit cards and various
other ways of moving money to and fro.
EGold does not - they hold

free of ANY fee other than the normal percentage for all transactions.
