It belatedly occurs to me that inverted TTL serial probably looks just like non-inverted TTL serial except the data will be garbled. So most likely you have it hooked up to the right pins but you somehow need to invert the signal. I found an article, which shows almost exactly the same result that

Its still getting garbled text with CP 2102. 15200 was a typo on here.. 😊 in Putty its 115200. I thought I try my FTDI 232,its text is garbled too… it does it on both of them.?? I am connecting it to pc then to FTDI232 or CP 2102 they connect to E3 then running Putty on PC and unplugging the E3

I think this should work, but can't remember if rx & tx are the right way round. Google TTL-232R-3V3-AJ. From what I remember there were 2 versions of pbl, one was hacked to allow a new kernel. The upgraded version was encrypted / required a signed binary. But Amstrad never released the key. the ke

Yes, you're right, that's clearly nonsense. Why would the E3 generate an inverted signal, anyway? If it's just the raw output from the processor (which I think it is) then it should be standard TTL levels, because it's supposed to be fed into something like a MAX232 for conversion to RS232 levels.

Thanks for the advice people.. 😊 I don’t have RS232 on my PC, I only use USB to TTL on it. Do I use a headphone jack that's mono so it only has 3 connections on it, not a stereo one, any one got a pic of it so I know what to get(I know what it looks like just need to see if it a normal headphone
